****OK AFTER EVERYONE HAS HAD A GO AT ME, MAIN POINT OF THIS THREAD IS THAT I CAN NOW GET INSURED, SOD THE PRICE, ITS A MIRACLE THEY WILL INSURE ME ON A GTI AT ALL. IF YOU KNOW A PLACE THAT WILL INSURE AN 18 YEAR OLD FOR UNDER 1800 tpft THEN TELL ME, IF YOU THINK 1800 IS OVER THE ODDS BUT HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE TO OFFER THEN PLEASE DON;T CALL ME A MUG...ETC. I HAVE WANTED A GTI FOR AGES, PAYING HIGH INSURANCE DOESNT BOTHER ME (AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU COULD SAY WE ARE ALL MUGS, WE ALL SPEND 'S ON CARS THAT IF WE SELL THEM ARE WORTH NOTHING AND WE LOSE LOTS OF MONEY, BUT WE DONT CARE AS WE LIKE GOLFS AND WE ARE WILLING TO WASTE OUR MONEY, BECAUSE TO US ITS NOT WASTING MONEY BECAUSE ITS SOMETHING WE ARE INTERESTED IN). IF IT MEANS HAVING A GTI THEN IM NOT THAT WORRIED. OBVIOUSLY I WOULD LOVE NICE CHEAP INSURANCE BUT ITS JUST NOT AN OPTION FOR ME, NO MATTER WHAT CAR I BUY. IF HAVING A GTI IS GOING TO COST ME A LOT ON INSURANCE THEN SO BE IT. IF I DIDNT CARE ABOUT HAVING A GTI I WOULD GO OUT AND BUY A NICE 1.1 (EVEN THOUGH MY INSURANCE WOULD STILL BE AROUND THE 1000 MARK)****

anyone over 21 will not give a monkeys about this thread.

i am 18 nearly 19 with NO NCB, just been on elephant.co.uk and i can get insured on a mk1/2 GTI 8v (fully comp) for UNDER 2500.

My current fraud focus 1.4 is the same price for me to be insured on (my own policy fully comp).

AT LAST! insurance companys are finally letting us legally have GTIs!

now go ditch your shoddy drivers and get a gti

I remember paying 1100 quid on an 1100 fiesta that I only paid 600 quid
    for [xx(]

Hated every payment but I suppose there are some good things about
    getting old

How much??? I paid just shy of 700 f.c on my first 8V MK2 at 21........ and ended up at just over 300 at the age of 25. [:D]

Being old is great! If it wasn't for the missus, my insurance would be half the price it is now!!

[:^(] wish it was that price for me!

sadly no matter what car i get my insurance is over 1000, (my mate has a fiat chento 999cc and his is 1200!). The way i see it is that all cars are expensive to insure for someone my age, but if paying 400 extra one year and have a better, faster car then i may aswell pay it. when my renewal comes after a year it will then be much cheaper but untill then i am stuck paying lots of money - no matter what car i buy

I am getting quotes for a few cars, seen as I am back on the car hunt and on average having my girlfriend on the insurance is making each quote about 80 or 90 quid cheaper than on my own :p

Why oh why do you have to be so utterly offensive? There are so many more eloquent ways (which you are more than capable of) to put your point across.

it wa sout of order mate.

anyway its not so much about the price, its more about the fact that will actually insure me. in the past every company has just said no.
