Mot failed, so I went down to see why. Non of the lights were working so I thought must be a fuse, checked all the fuses and they were fine. Hmmmm then I remembered that my main light switch is broken so the plug doesn't clip in the back, sure enough the plug had fallen off the back of the switch. Plugged it back in all working again, passed with one advisory. Exhaust bit loud [emoji57]

Took it for a run tonight and I have missed the old girl a lot. Few little teething problems like the rear wheels rubbing, maybe I shouldn't have stuck 25mm spacers on. But all in all very happy.

Fitted stud converters last night too [IMG][IMG]

Sorry guys I haven't been on here for a while now, been busy with others things.

This is were I got my stud converters from, great price and they work a treat. They also haven't started to rust yet.

As for the car, it's running well. Had a couple 1.8t's challenge me but it wasn't much of a challenge :)
I made some door cards out of ply for now to stop the rain flooding in when its parked out side.
The Lucas battery o bought for it has been useless, would not hold its charge, the car struggled to start all the time. It even lost its charge on a long drive using no lights. So go the big heavy battery in there at the moment until I get an odessey one.
Still haven't bought a passenger seat yet either :/
The car just needs a fine tun up and some much better brakes.

Right small update. Turbo'ing the golf has been playing on my mind for a long time now, I kept thinking of reasons not to do it and to just enjoy the great car that I already have. But I have given in and bit the bullet so here goes.

Received a KKK k24 7000 from an audi S2 and manifold, curtesy of tshirt2K. Must say a big thanks for all his help so far [emoji106]
Picked up an intercooler off my mate, and I have bought a 1.8t bam inlet and lower KR inlet curtesy of chargedlupo.

The list is endless at the moment so I'll keep this updated as much as I can. But at the moment I'm just going to be collecting parts before I start stripping the car down.

Great thread, made good reading on a Sunday morning.
Are you planning to use your induction kit when you go turbo?

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the read :)

Umm not sure to be honest, I'll have to do some research and take on board anyone's opinions on what's best to use and do with things like this.
Are you after it? Or are you thinking it's best not to use it?

    Cheers
    Alex

Get reading Nige's car thread all you need to know and much more lol

How's the car been going since you got it on the road ?
And you're now feeling underpowered because of the newer golf lol

Edit just seen you've been reading Nige's thread already lol

    Yea I have read nige's thread :)

The car has been great loving every minute of it, just been driving it now and here it is parked out side my mates house. [IMG]

I wouldn't say I feel underpowered. The R32 is a completely different kettle of fish, everything about it is completely different. They're both really fun to drive and both very fast cars. Not only is turbo'ing the mk2 something I am really excited about but I also feel it needs it, it would totally transform and finish the car off.

    I'm after it :)
Running standard seat airbox on mine and would like a little more induction noise to balance against the tezet manifold & jetex exhaust sound track
