    I believe my '91 Golf GTi 16v has factory fitted cruise control. It don't seem to work though unfortunately, any ideas what could have gone wrong?

    I'll try get a picture of the left hand stalk later on...

    I've got a factory tinted front screen as well. Does this make my car a posh ******* then?

    Just had a quick read through, i'm pretty much led to believe my MK2 was a demo car or something, seems pretty strange for a 1.3 to have a lot of this stuff fitted as standard? Put all the codes into that online decoder, it had GTI seats etc. in from new..

    Any given gutter, any given day.
    I think it's a complicated vacuum operated job, the Bentley would probably be the best place for details.

    Right, I used the decoder and i've got a few questions:

    1AF = Power brake........whats this?

    4KC = Side and rear windows in heat-insulatingglass
    4GF = Windshield in heat-insulating glass........................is this diff from normal glass?

    8K3 = Daytime running lights with low beam assistant and "coming home" function.....does this mean i can leave my sidelights on, take the keys out etc. and they will go off themselves?

    8D7 = 6 speakers (passive).......2 in the doors, 2 in the back, wheres the other 2?is that what the vents are on the dash?

    Any help with this would be great peeps!

    this is the brake bias valve which is just in front of the rear axle on the passenger side

    adjusts braking if you have some weight in the back.

    i would take the decoder with a pinch of salt, it told me my mk2 came with both 16'' and 18'' alloys when it came with 15''

    Once found a dash switch in a golf mk2 in a scrappy which was marked SSS!
    Stop/Start system apparently (like in some more recent eco-friendly cars!)

    My golf has the optional cavernous boot, rectangular headlights and an extra foot of tailpipes;)
