You can actually replicate the bits of pipe using this program. It helped me when doing my Downpipe. And did it within the free trail ;)

i got catia (which i use every day for work) for any modelling, but there's no stage of this that's going to require it!

kit is made by icengineworks - http://icengineworks.com/

There is so much genius in this thread! just sat and realised as I was reading it how mundane it makes my mk2 project look haha what power are you looking to make with the engine set up on carbs?

not letting the power output be a driving factor in this build so i'd rather not think about it too much. it's more of an excersize in what i can learn/create in the process, as long as it puts a smile on my face when i drive it i'll be happy :)

that said, with 48's, a decent exhaust, cams, 12-13:1 compression ratio i think it should be up there with the NA honda's :p

you could get the basic kit which would probably be enough to do a manifold, assuming you didn't want everything from the same CLR, for $400, about 250

not interested in renting it out i'm afraid

Did you get hit with import tax?

It's a good time to buy from US with the pound being strong

Don't tie yourself in knots having all the primaries EXACTLY the same , you'd have to be at F1 levels of tune to worry about that! Loving the work so far , funny , I got an ALT outside the door of my project's home at the mo.....;)

    Need any cylinder head bits?

F1 levels of tune, based on what? haha, now i've got the basic design i'm going to CFD it and make sure there's no irregularities

I managed to get them all exactly the same :) will put up pics later

    some better pictures :)

after a couple of attempts at getting things right and failing miserably, i went back and did some research, looked at probably thousands of pictures of manifold design, mostly from the honda and ford boys as they seem to have a much bigger market for this sort of thing.

armed with a few more bits i worked out roughly where i wanted my collector to sit

and then started at the hardest primary (the one that has to make the tightest turns)

and after a few iterations i ended up with an equal length design that packaged acceptably :)

only thing left to do was to take it all back apart again and label the handy sheet supplied with what bends i now require. i've made everything in the picture with 3" CLR bends and straights, so ordering things is relatively simple, i can make the whole lot from 6 180deg bends with plenty

    Time to order metal [:D]
