Its finished!! I didnt complete the work till 8:30 tonight, so im collecting it from the unit tomorrow morning. Well chuffed!!! Had a few mishaps along the way, but im glad its finally finished. Not only that, but i have fully working mk2 clocks. Sod all this mk3/corrado fiddly installations. A neat trick with resistors and i have rev counter and factory look dash. I took a few pics this evening to bask in glory at the accomplishment, but as i was cleaning up i left it on the side!! [:^(] Expect loads of pics tomorrow though, even though the car is filtthy dirty. I will also be along to the Rolling Road day at Stealth on Sunday!! Woooo!!! Special Thanks to:- Ivan Phillips Automotive (Friend, Mechanic and Technical Guru), Paul Horrocks (For Pointing out the obvious, and generally being a god of the Mk2 VR6), Andy Gibson (Stripping down the wiring loom and connecting my rev counter), Stealth Racing (Parts and Rev Counter information), All My Family, friends without which this couldnt have been made possible.........and last but not least, it wouldnt be an honours list without the cliche, thank you GOD!! Im preparing for the Oscars!!
Nice one Luke, well done! Will have a look on Sunday. Think you may need to forward the wiring emails between you and Phatty onto me soon....!
No chance. This car corrects all the wrongs im made in 2002 selling the valver that i was going to VR! Hehe, its easy really mate. Im a complete electrical screw up, and i managed to wire the car and get it started on my own, despite head scratching by others. It needed advice, but i still did it on my own!
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet nice work (thats a big round of applause) want to do this to mi digi gti
Deaks, you're dissapointing me I was expecting more pics! Still I suppose when you're doing the job yourself you aint got time . Good work though
Don't worry there will be more pics, when we left the garage last night Luke left his camera there that's all, it runs lovely
LOL Who do you think my name is? Mk2JettaGod?? Here is a pic of the customised front mount bracket. Needed cutting, rewelding, then smoothing and repainting. Doesnt look bad! Here is a pic of the final install. Sorry its dark, the light was failing and ive been way too busy today to get some more pics. The last time you will see the car wearing porsche rims. Fed up of the adapters coming undone and cant be arsed to threadlock them. They do look sweet though! [:^(] Anyways, see some of you tomorrow at the VR6OC RR Day!! Edited by: Deako
Looks really good. Will be starting doing a Mk2 VR conversion on a mates GTI soon. He has picked all the bits up today.
Cheers guys. The awesome set of BBS RMs will be going on very soon too!! Just gotta buy some flush valves.
