I have an Abf engine and 020 16v box with Quaiffe diff from my old mk2 ready to go into it.

I will be using a DTA E48 ecu to run a set of 45mm Jenvey dth throttle bodies with a Zeitronix ZT-2 Lambda controller.

Thanks Chris, I bought it off an elderly German couple about 3 miles from my house.

They brought it in from Germany with them years ago, it was used daily up until about 10 years ago, then it got the very odd run in the summer up until 2009.

It was garaged for most of its life so its a very strong shell with no real rust issues, however it was well used and could do with a lick of paint.

It doesn't even look German. French maybe? Or are you outside UK?

I got a full Powersprint Mk1 16v 60mm exhaust system and four branch manifold for it that just arives the other day, quality kit I must say.

I took loads of pics, might help anyone looking for info on them, I couldn't find much when I was looking before I bought.

I was going to weigh it for all the race and track day buffs but couldn' find anything to weigh it with.

    Anyway heres te photos!

Hmmm that exhaust has a nice big collector at the end of the 2-into-1 section. Is there a chance of measuring the inside diameter?

Sorry Chris, I should have mentioned I'm in Ireland.

Its very straight and original, a set of Koni dampers was the only modification to it.

I have Mk2 G60 calipers, Zimmerman crossdrilled discs, pagid pads and braided hoses with very small mileage from my old mk2 to go on the front and will be converting the rear to discs using the guide on here that uses the later sealed bearings.

There is a set of BBS RS 047's coming for it from the UK shortly aswell and I already have stainless dishes, bolts and new Toyo Proxes for them, I think they will really make the car.
I would love a race inspired mk1 but as this is so original I want to keep it looking a bit oem.

Its a 60mm collector to match the rest of the system, not sure if thats measured internally or externally, I can check tomorrow!

Thats great, plenty of scope for future mods, only got an adjustable cam pulley at the moment.

The Powersprint stuff is top notch in fairness, the system is designed for a 16v Mk1 aswell, I'm surprised theres not more of them around!

It seems to me that they are the racing wing of Supersprint or something?

I ordered direct from Powersprint too, great to deal with, couldn't recommend them enough!

The Jenveys, wiring loom and DTA E48.

I got the loom and ecu for €250 which I thought was a bargain.

I'll get some decent ram pipes for the Jenveys at some stage too.

Heres my Abf before it went onto the mk2, fresh enough only about 70k on it.

Here it is going into the mk2.

    Fitted.

I can't wait to see it with the itb's fitted in the mk1, I have the lower spring loaded type alt and bracket for the abf aswell.

Its designed for a mk1 with 16v engine and its adjustable for height.

You obviously haven't done your homework:lol:

i saw red as i saw that exhaust..forgetting you're LHD and wont have any of the issues i had trying to fit a small block LHD manifold to a tall block RHD..... it looks like its not adjustable, its like mine, if its for a short block it will need the strap extending or it wont clear

I'm fairly confident that it will fit.

What make was the manifold you were fitting?

mine was a supersprint copy from belgium.. made for LHD drive cars, theres a thread on here about them Hottuning. Yours looks way better quality.
The way the downpipe routes around the bulkhead and past the ARB and gear linkage is pretty tight and that extra 16mm (i think) height of the block can create issues..
that slip joint is supposed to be fully located, its not for adjusting exhaust length, its to make diss(and re)assembly of the exhaust easier but i ended up extending the exhaust and strap and clamping it up.

When I ordered mine I specified that I was using an Abf engine and thats what they sent me.

Their listing just states Golf 1 16v, it doesn't go into engine codes.

There seems to be plenty of scope for lengthening the manifold but I may have to modify/extend the strap alright.

Fitted the RS's lastnight with new Toyo proxes, plenty of room for the g60 brakes now, hopefully I'll get a chance to throw them on at the weekend!

Must take a few pics while I'm at it, sitting a bit high now but I have a set of Eibach springs to go on aswell if I get a chance.

My spare Rs 047 landed, bit tatty but will clean up well.

Got some bits of trim that needed replacing from VW classic parts.

Collected my Abf, removed all the unnecessary bits from it and bolted on the Jenveys, 4 branch and tdi alternator setup.
