It just seems foolish Eddie, I can't get my head around it one bit. I'm not trying to be negative, just genuinely stunned.

From a club / forum point of view, it portrays an impression to those reading it that it's fine to build a high output engine and thrash it without any setup or safetynet, so whilst the OP is more than fine to do as he chooses, and I'm very glad for him that no issues occurred, I think it should be strongly noted that it's very bad practice and those reading this should absolutely NOT assume it to be OK.

Wouldnt worry about the head wont add any hp. A remap however ;) id imagine once mapped you will have enough power where traction will be your next focus.

Ive been purchasing quite at lot recently new mk2 loom and aum 1.8t loom sent them to andy outhwait to get them spliced and the ecu deimoblised, i bought a new head about 3 weeks ago thanks to pete for picking it up it has been sent over to bills to fit the valve train and cast his magic over, bought a gearbox back that i sold early on in the year a mk3 TDI box with 80,000 miles on it just going to get this stripped checked over and a new diff fitted. New race crank baring's new piston rings just got to check the bores on the block make sure there ok im looking for a large intercooler at the moment but all will take a lot of modding to fit so they arnt seen and work well a lot of work to do going to do it over christmas and its booked in at bills in jan

I currently run the Toyosport 600x300 with 76mm in/outlet on mine (otherwise known as a wellycooler) along with a corrado VR6 radiator. Had to make some small brackets to mount it; reposition the radiator very slightly (still uses one factory mount though on the cross-member) and finally grind a bit out the slam panel but it fits great and no need to cut out the bumper either.

Couple of pics in the following

Alex at aks is going to do a group buy on peron intercoolers after Christmas. Might be worth giving him a shout to see if they do anything suitable. Although I'm not too sure how cheap they are.
