If no one knows this car, and it seems like a few dont, then try searching for a few videos. If you cant find any, add me on msn and ill send them across. The car is aural pleasure and scary fast on track.
I got a lap of Combe on Vid it was the best i got out of the car high 1.18 . I will try and up load it when i get time to render it.
[:^(] [:^(] [:^(] Very sad day - I hope both the new owner gets some pleasure out of it and you build another storming car One of the delights in going to Coombe over the past few years, very sad to see you sell it on
Was a quality car & a credit to you Graham!! Im gutted the wheels arent ET25 as id snap your arm off! My Compos are 7x15 ET25 with 5 & 10mm spacers front & rear so I dont think ET35 would work.. Front spacers required to clear 2 piece 304mm discs & Brembos..Caliper "shaved" too
An awesome car (i seen the vids before) & one i always thought was a stunner.....one of the cars that made me start work on mine. hope it goes to a good home & let's hope to see the next one you build .
That mk1 is in my opinion the best in the country. It's sad for Graham but he's done it now and i think he can be well chuffed with what he achieved. It can be quite frustrating having such a highly tuned car with things breaking on a regular basis so i can see why he's had enough. Heard rumours of the possible replacement from some of the local lads
doesn't this hold a record round palmers at bedford? may i ask how uch it went for and ho wmuch of a car i missed buying? [:^(]
Thanks everyone, I have never got attached to and car before, just took the money and ran. But i must admit it was hard selling this one. And i only rang the new owner 2 weeks ago saying i think im going to sell. Never sold a car that quick before Going to look at another in the next few days, time to move on to smaller and lighter things
One very well executed Mk1, definatly one of a kind and very effective too from what I saw on track. So... whats next?
Nooooo !! saw that car the 1st time you displayed it..feckin awesome and still is. Graham. Be proud that you have contributed a car into the hall of fame in the uk veedub scene. It'll be known forever. I'm sure we'll see it around Good luck with the next car
I am sorry to see you parted with the car, it really was a stunning car and makes you stand out as one of the top VW people imho.Itis myfavorite Golf in the whole VW scene. At least we will still see it around, I am sure Paul will make sure we do.
never got to see it in the flesh but in pictures and videos it looked and sounded amazing. it has given me some inspiration and motivation for my mk1 project...
