it was quite simple once you get your head around the wiring and the TPS

Oh yeah... something I forgot about. Some TPS's on the Mk2 8v digi manifold will foul the FPR on the digi fuel rail. so you might need to experiment a bit. There are audi fuel rails (mine is from an A4 8v of some sort) which have the smaller standard FPR on the later cars, or you could fit the FPR remotely with a bracket and a couple of hose fittings. Just a bit of fiddling needed, rather than a complete re-engineering of the system.

Yes the Renault one was the similar, just managed to squeeze it in. Forgot, on the digi one with a bracket on top there it just fouled the bonnet stiffening rib with a taller block. Nothing a hammer didn't fix.

at the very clear risk of sounding thick what is the fuel rail FPR

aye, its the metal thingy on the end of the fuel rail, with a fuel line and a vacuum pipe on it

so you reckon a fuel rail from an 8v audi is a better/straight fit? I wonder if it makes sense pinching both from the same car.

dont think the audi ones will fit? depends which inlet they have i guess. you'll know when you find one either way :)

I have an Audi fuel rail on mine from an A4, and an Audi Throttle body from an Audi 80, so same brand, but different models. The later audis have a single round TB, rather than the twin butterfly one, I think, like the later VWs.

digging up an old thread. I now have an audi tb but there is no way th tps will clear the inlet and fuel rail. Trying to tackle this from a different angle so is it possible to use an AGG inlet manifold with an ABF throttle body with TPS?

I've got an audi ABK fuel rail on the Rocco, but I'm using the rocco manifold, so I'm not sure if it'll foul on a TPS type throttle body on a digi manifold.

AGG manifold wont fit a mk1/2 head, if you can get a mk3 golf head then you'll be sorted!

damn I thought I was onto a winning idea there but I guess people would have done it if it did work. I want to stick with my head I think its a good one especially after the figures achieved on the rollers. Is aluminium welding quit specialised and expensive? thinking maybe possible to cut and mount a flange onto the mk2 inlet to accept the mk3 TB.

EDIT: looking at pics of the mk3 and mk2 inlets the port spacing and bolts look the same not doubting you but why wont it fit? is it due to the huge outer flange around the ports of the mk3 item?

DOUBLE EDIT: I see the mk3 has funny shaped ports is this why? can they not be modified?

wonder how much it would cost to get something like this welded up?

this TB looks to be suited although the mounting holes and shape is different I think it will fit within the rectangular mating face of the 8v inlet and it has a temperature sensor. Any thoughts on how this would be done?

depends how well it lines up and if there is any metal where you need the bolt holes to be, might have to make an adaptor plate for it. this may actually help you as if you space it out a bit could aim all the gubins away from the throttle body. just a case of make sure the rubber boot wont hit the turret where the tb will end up

what is this from anyway, perhaps the inlet that goes with it might be usefull...

if you know a good alu welder they mauy be able to convert the mk3 inlet for you to fit, it would take a fair bit of cutting and welding as the ports are gonna hit your injectors

aah forgot about the turret  its from a 4.2 audi a8. Judging by the overall size it will not foul the fuel rail as the TPS is mounted right next to the TB. Just wish I had one to hand to see the mating face size
