Will be watching this thread with some interest too. Always liked the Idea of Vr6's in Polo's for some reason.

std ,yes and no,,reason is theres was a bid mix up on a forium before i evern got to start on the project ,as i rebuilt this for a turbo spec,to fit in my caddy ,then i bought the later mk4 24v to make fit in my caddy ,so the guy said he was going to have a turbo vr6 in his polo ,,,which was wrong ,,so i down graded it back to standed ,but it dose have slightly lower compression and high lift cams ,along with with ,new chains/tensioners etc,as the guy wants me to turbo it as well ,when his funds are up ,this maybe a something down the pipeline lol ,at mo its std ish;) other then have a fueling chip to 200bhp then the stock 174,

piece of cake ,nothing hard about makeing one of these fit in a polo ,ive just got to beef the rear mounts up more ,and everything will algine up and do the job,u can just see the last pic were the inlet manifold is just standing proud ,,erm ,i will sort that little prob ,,no worries then ill remove the front tempory bars to make a nice cross member to tidy the job up ,,,plenty of room to add a nice turbo too,,

    Ok i've thought of something.

I'm stunned by the amount of people on here that think this level of work is acceptable.
Your friend is gonna hurt himself in that car. Theres no strength left in that subframe and that engine mount bracket is just unbelievable.

    Ok i'm done.

cheers for the coments guys ,,,hi angrybob.....so your saying because ive cut that lump from the chassi and rewelded it with strenghing plates inside ,its made the chassi weak ,,erm ,i have to say your wrong i reckon you dont know me that well ,reason it ,,,i also do crash and inpack tests on welded parts/joints to check ,and you would find the a stand car subframe /chassi/body pannels ,are basicly spot welded on 95percent of cars ,, a weak point ,,,i.e if i spot welded a engine mount on approx a spot every inch it would break off ,,if i seem weld it will crack around the weld ,,,if i stick weld it will go to the weakish part of the steel strengh,,,etc etc, so pease dont tell me my welding/chassi are WEAK,,,,,,,

regards fitting this in a polo ,,this isnt my idea ,, the engine is too heavy/loads of under steer,,but if u check ,he wants this for a straight line quarter mile runs,,,not to try zipping around arounds ,,,,but if need be ,ill ripp the rear end off and fit a 4wd set up like im doing with my caddy ,,,but cheers for adding ur post, angrybob;)
