polo vr6 conversion 6n

    was only a guess tooo ....due to trying the bonet on and i reckon it may close ,,as the front pannel fitted with a bit of chopping here and there lol

    Outstanding job! Not much space left at the front, plenty at the back tho for a couple of big turbos :thumbup:

    Nice work, everything looks strong enough :thumbup: ., just watch the oil filter housing on the front crossmember when the engine torques upwards. Are you converting to cable clutch? and what engine management?.

    hi steve yes i did cut some out ,so may chop a tad more out to be safe ,,, ive a std engine loom and ecu ,im going to be stuck as i just unpluged it from the old mk3 instead of takeing the whole fusebox ,,im not looking forward unless anyone has a plud pin read out of were there supose to go ,ie power earth, just to get the engine runing ,has i doubt they can be just pluged into the mk4 polo fuse box

    cheers if anyone can help/assit or know who to wire a obd1 vr6 loom into a mk4 fusebox ,it would help loads ,,has i can sort all the engine bay wireing ill just be left with the fuse box plugs on the end of the mk3 loom ,,,,,has i carnt see them pluging into the mk4 polo fusebox lol

    You looked at the Polo fuse box??

    Wouldnt be surprised if it did just plug in. . . .

    I may has missed it, but where's the rad going, will it fit ?

    may do ,but i think the plug wireing maybe differnert conpaired to the mk3 vr6 plugs,,,, as i dont fancy a fire on the go lol

    hiy a pal cheers for asking ,,ive not know my weld break as yet lol ,ill get a rad in the front ,bit of a squeeze but ill sort that ,caddys sat there due have other things to sort ,,,, :lol: a few updates here ,,and clearer pics too

    first add do a little alteration to make sure the oil filter houseing wouldnt catch

    then just caped and finshed the front mont off

    and made a few extra beefy brackets to put some extra strengh in that rear mount

    then fitted the vr gear selector ,,fits a treat evern cables right length too

    thats that sorted and all working fine,,

    and just made a start on the down pipe too

    had to cut as the vr bends both ways
    this is a mock up how it will look with some pipe welded in place

    and a engine shot of how it fits ,,not bad for a first attempt i reckon ..

    small update ,,,
    bit of chopping and welding here and there to get a down pipe modifyed

    that bit sorted it will clear for engine movement ..
    right next engine wireing ,,lol i hate it ,i ant a ******* clue ,,can anyone help ,,,
    i have seperate pin pics if anyone knows

    as i know some of the wireing wont be needed ,which is another story

    looking awesome! If you need to know anything bout the electrics, try rubjonny on here. I read loads of post's in the "electrical" section last week, trying to find the VR wiring for myself, and pretty much every reply was from him! He seems pretty clued up on it and was very helpfull to me! hope it helps mate!:thumbup:

    bloody hell nice one pal ,,,ill try asearch as who ever helps ,the owner wants to add stickers on his car for the quarter mile runs ,,,,,,lol,,,ma i know ,,,but ir eckon it helps on the forium etc.... im knackerd with with wireing but ok at makeing anything fit i reckon lol

    give yourself more credit than that bud,you have done allot of custom fabrication to sqeeze that lovley old 12v into the bay of a polo and then one day drive off into the subset...:lol:

    Wirings not to bad mate, do polo's have ce2 fusebox? Doesn't matter if not just would make it a lot easier! You got any diagrams for vr's?
