Hi guys been having a long hard think and ive decided to can the project for now. Im not planning on selling it going to stick it into storage for a while till i decide what to do. Cheers for the support
don't store it - time moves too quickly and out of sight is out of mind.... sure you have plenty to be gettin on with - sussing out what engine management to run - sorting all the bits to get the engine running... interior work... wiring - you could be routing the wiring out of sight - working on a battery relocation - etc etc etc etc still LOADS to do.... get stuck in! bound to be another sprayer in scotland somewhere.... get the yellow pages out - keep the chin up and keep at it!
Agree with Carbs I fear if you store it,. it will come up for sale as an unfinished project at some point when your enthusiasm has wained... Totally your choice but I say press on while your on a roll...Sure you won't regret finishing it ?? And if you then want rid its going to be worth more finished than half done.. Plus selfishly I am enjoying watch it come together ...your commitment to quality is impressive..
Give ya head a shake mate and get it done, I am sure there is another painter that can produce good results. Do it the justice you both deserve.
Mate the car is looking great wow. Im looking to do the same project. Just wanted to ask, How much did the body shop charge you for all the work on the car and the respray?????
I think what it cost is an irrelevance? Just had a proper read of the article, and I have to say, great work There's no way Stefan will recognise any of the car after a nut & bolt rebuild, and entire re-style/makeover that thorough! So congrats on all the hard work - it looks the very best quality. I'd bet a decent rest after that is well in order? Mind you, Edition 38 is in 1.5 weeks! Ah, that was the "going undercover" clue, you tease !
aarrgh!i so fell for that! have just sat and read the whole build thread then nearly died when you said you wernt gonna finish it!!! any pics up on the site of it?? if not which pvw is it in cos il check my pile and if i dont have it its DEFINATLY worth ordering a back issue just to see it! an amazing read, the dedication is ridiculous and has inspired me to get my ass in gear and actually start making my mk2 look presentable!!! WELL DONE AGAIN MATE!!
Just been looking at your other threads and Chris kindly posted up the link to your MK1. I have to say, what a great build from start to finish The final outcome looks great!!!
cheers mate, its undergoing a changing rooms style makeover at the moment, hope to have it out for the end of the summer
