And very difficult to stick to 30mph too [:^(] Don't worry, it had already touched the redline by the time Gary had got in it Edited by: Golfgirl
Yes, it was sad to part with the Mk 3 as I've really enjoyed owning it, despite that "anti-Mk 3" brigade on here. It's just great to have power on tap with the R32, although it's very difficult through built up areas to do 30mph Edited by: Golfgirl
Power to weight ratio is similar with both cars 'if' mine produces the 170bhp it shows on Stealth's rollers BUT after driving the R32 I think it will eat the mk2 alive and spit out of (both) fat tailpipes [:^(] VW really have worked on the low-mid range torque with the R32 incarnation of the VR6, it pulls from 2500 like a train early 2.8 mk3 VR6s that I've driven feel quite flat at the bottom end I find.
For a big lump of a car they handle very well and the engine's torque is superb. As well as sounding great the engine is tuneable too I've loved driving mine - must have cos I've done 20,000 miles in a year and I don't need a car for work - I'll be sad to see it go [:^(]
Something dull & sensible for Monday to Friday and something a bit tastier for the weekends - I hope!
But the R32 can be all that can't it ie. potter around all week being sensible....and then get yer lead boots on for the weekends!! WWWWWAAAAAAAAARRRRRRPPPPPP!!!!!
True, it's dead easy to live with in traffic and mega when you get chance to open her up. Even traffic jams are amazing, I leave 10 yards gaps to accelerate through just to listen to the engine. Believe me, if I could keep it I would do.
Divorce don't come cheap! I probably could just about keep it but I seem to get bored with cars after a year or so anyway and there's not much more I could do to mine without spending really stupid cash and ruining its driveability [/rare sensible moment]
