A mate of mind has currently got a 300bhp R32 on loan from AmD as they're doing an engine rebuild on his RS4 and he says that he gets better fuel consumption from the modded RS4 (and he doesn't drive slowly either).

Have you R32 owners found them a bit juicy?

Compared to my Mk 3, yes. But I knew how uneconomical it would be when I bought it so I'm not complaining.

Maximum I've got out of it so far is 28mpg and I get around 16-20mpg round town.

Was it Shells's mate that had that Blue R32 with full warranty cover for about 3 years. EVERYTHING was covered for a few k on the price. So she could kill the tyres on track and go and get new ones fitted from VW free of charge!?

    Nice one!

I got the SMT Plan and it costs just 30 a month and includes everything wear & tear, servicing and tyres :) :p

Great when you consider a full service on the R is gonna be about 250+vat and that 4 tyres (evry 12 months) will be in excess of 500!

    Lucky!

I hate giving the keys back after I've had to drive one somewhere..

I had to drop a customer off to the train station, fairly old guy, he said 'ohh this is sporty, put ya foot down' so I did, he then said 'I would like one of these'...

That was that, my boss then tells me 'that old guy you dropped to the station just came back to pick up his TDi and has agreed a purchase price on a new R32 because of the drive you took him for'

    lol!

    Love em!

    GVK - what's replacing it?
She mentioned a white car but that was it!

New imported Civic Type R (the good one)?

Andy - yes indeed. Did VERY well in Evo's car of the year and I've seen nothing but rave reviews.
The official import hatch model seems to have gone down like a lead balloon though.

    Wierd.
