clarkson, the voice of reason as always! its not just top gear that is affected by this kinda stuff, the kind of people who want top gear shut down, want everything remotely dangerous stopped, unless they like doing it themselves. morons! Glad to hear the hamster is perking up. Would be tragic if he didnt make it.
Well funny article, as was the one in the Sunday Times also. It all depends on how good a recovery Hammond makes, but fingers and everything else crossed, that he's ok. I would have thought if Hammond makes a great recovery here, and is ok to reassume firstly his family role and secondly present Top Gear again (please God ), I feel sure they will show this video, or a carefully edited version. And this would galvanise a status as a comeback hero. Let's not jump the gun, but imagine the emotions, and the reception? Back from the 300mph brink. Bring it on
There are some influences which do translate across though - I was out on an airfield again yesterday in my so-called 'field car', which has elements of Top Gear inspiration tbh. How dangerous is it? Miniscule - but the 'beauraucratic health & safety blue bottles', as Clarkson puts it, will have their own view.
but your not just allowed on track without safety briefings etc are you? at the end of the day its your car, your not on public roads and its up to you....you know the risks involved, so why interfere and say you cant do something? its infringing on your freedom/rights

Looks like the money raised will go towards a second helicopter for Yorkshire: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5374918.stm - Hammy's Heli
So what is the latest on his condition, anyone know?? It seems to have been phased out from the news... EDIT: Just as i say the it pops up on radio 1! Now moving to a hospital nearer to home, looking amazingly well, and practically ready for rehab!!
Bit more news here - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5384400.stm Still in that limbo stage, hasn't been moved to Cheltenham hospital yet, so no clear sign about the level of recovery he will achieve yet....
They said if he continues at the rate of improvement he has already shown, he could be back to normal in 6 months!
