really glad he's pulling through, said on the news that a quote on topgears website was removed yesterday, something about hamster killing himself, a bit unfortunate now but as we all know was said in jest...
i'm glad it looks like he's going to make a recovery, i realy thought he'd had it when it was on the news on wednesday night. air ambulance upto 42k+, and they're worth every penny!
He's in safe hands (stolen from PH thread) 53k + raised now - fantastic! http://www.justgiving.com/PHRichardHammond?page=1#donationtable
Of course ! JC's Sun article is brilliant this morning http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006440317,00.html
Just heard on the radio that Jeremy Clarkson says Hamster has walked to the toilet on his own, hopefully that's a good sign?
yeah i heard he said was his driving bad and he knocked at the door of death and didnt like what he saw when it openend. jezzers words.
Medical staff at Leeds General Infirmary said Hammond has made such good progress from his injuries that he has now been moved from a high dependency unit on to a general medical ward and is in a stable condition. The TV star said he was so overwhelmed with flowers he was worried he could be in for some ribbing from fellow presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May.
This is brilliant news... so releived! Assuming all continues going this well and he recovers fully do you think he/they will want the footage showing? And i bet it'll do wonders for the shows ratings... so many people are gonna watch the show that never had any interest before.
''Immediately, James discovered a prior engagement and said he couldnt go. I, meanwhile, decided that I spent most of my thirties upside down in jet fighters and helicopter gunships, vomiting, and that these days I was far too fat.'' ''The only good news, so far as I could see, was that his teeth were still as shiny and bright as ever.'' ''Leeds General Infirmary is a no star hospital. According to the bureaucrats, its terrible. But trust me on this. From where Richard Hammond was lying, it was about as terrible as Angelina Jolies left breast.''
Since the accident nearly 65,000 has been raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance from donations from motoring enthusiasts. Well-wishers on the internet forum pistonheads.com set up a webpage (www.justgiving.com/phrichardhammond) so that contributions could be made to the charity. edit just noticed this one: David Curtis 24/09/2006 Donation 50,000.00 Pistonheads must be getting a member rush after them being mentioned on some big sites.
i've got a feeling that someone may have hit the 0 button too many times can't wait to see his face when the bank statement comes "making a donation after a night out"....priceless !!
