The Hamster is fixed - Clarkson Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson says co-presenter Richard Hammond is "completely fixed", one month after his 300mph horror smash. Speaking at the MPH 06 motor show in Birmingham, Clarkson told BBC News: "He's completely fixed after his minor crash. "The only thing that's really breaking his heart is he has chipped one of his whitened teeth. "He's got to rest because although there's nothing actually wrong with him, it's better he just has some time off, writes his book, sells his story. "We're getting texts from him every five minutes: 'I can't believe I'm not there, I really want to come.'" Hammond is currently recovering with his wife, Mindy, and daughters, Izzy, six and Willow, three, in a secluded mountain cottage where he has been for the past two weeks. He is on no medication but still sees doctors regularly and has been told it will take six months for his brain to heal properly. Hammond attributes his survival solely to a near-obsessive dedication to safety and says he will use the horrific experience to warn others to take every precaution available. The presenter said he expected Top Gear to return to the screen in the New Year, although he joked he would probably be confined to road-testing sofas.
