the remote is just wired from the output on the HU to the amp... i suspect the remote output on the HU is powered from the illumination input on the iso connector... not the live

sorted, wired the illumination input to permanant live and it's working perfectly.

i'm dead chuffed... i've spent under 200 and have a stereo system which (to my ears at least) sounds great!
it's also totally stealth... the tweeters are mounted where the old dash speakers were, i cut the cones and magnets off the old speakers, cut a hole in the middle and mounted the tweeters in them, genius! the door speakers look stock, and the parcel shelf is stealthed.

big thanks to everyone for all your help [:D]

i'll take some sometime, nothing to see really tho.. [:D]

best sort the HU first, the RCA leads are stopping it going all the way in... any way to fit a 90 bend or something?

you'll find a way, just clear the path for them by re-arranging some of the loom behind the dash! :)

Right, if you take the back of the RCA plugs off, you may be able to CAREFULLY bend them through 90 degrees. THen tape each one up to insulate it, or cover with heat shrink.

This is not something I have done, only a suggestion.
