the d plug would work, pin 8, 9 or 11.

just had another look at the diagram and i think i know why it didnt work, the 2nd black wire to the D plug needs to run to an ignition live jumper block on the MK3, which is connected to D/8. The E plug itself doesnt supply any voltage :)

All done now the thing is an absolute beast loads more torque steer than the mk3. The clutch also feels fine with the cable slight problem with the throttle cable is the actual sleeve of the cable sometimes moves and the brown plastic part comes out of the bulkhead hole and gets caught when trying to go back in. The cable has been adjusted and moves the throttle fully back and forth as it should so not sure how to stop the sleeve moving.

^^^ thats exactly why ours was cutting out, no live to transponder box. Best thing was - we had put the dash back in and had to drag it out again!!!

    Good progress!

When's the test drive then, or should I give it a week so you can find out if you forgot to tighten any bolts?

I will try and come and see you this week some point. My bro in law has the car in Southall at the moment and he's gone and put his foot through the wiring around the fusebox as I did not get a chance to do the final tidy up so the car currently has no power to the ignition at all  sure its a quick fix though.

I am pretty sure the bolts are ok although just remembered that I forgot to refit the little metal flap that covers up the bottom of the flywheel area [:$]

He broke it - he should fix it! It would have helped if you'd spent 2 minutes with some cable ties though!
