i think the police using skoda is a great endorsement

Vrs ironically targeted as a criminals' getaway car too.

    But they are VWs.....

Fabia, Octavia, Superb are...Polo, Golf, Passat

The VRS Fabia is actually the most refined of all the 'Polos' as they have more sound deadening and insulation than either the Polo or Ibiza

The octavia vrs looks sweet. Dont worry about the image thing atall. Id drive one for the reason you said Tony20v, for the ultimate street sleeper. With a re-map, people wouldn't know what hit 'em.

The newest Octavia looks the dogs cahones! Equally as good as the new MK5 GTi in my book! Remap and jobs a good'un! [:D]

My mate was on about either an Octavia or a Fabia VRS but saw sense and bought an Audi A8 :p

TBH, even if the Skoda's came with 500bhp as standard and were 10 grand brand new, I still wouldn't be seen dead in one, regardless of weather they are part of the VAG group or not, they are still Skoda's at the end of the day ;) And the interiors are horrible as well [xx(]

Plus there is this disturbing similarity to consider..

it is difficult for skoda to loose decades of bad reputation

it leaves them reliant on a niche of buyers

i guess the drivers of tomorrow wont know much different and see it as a reasonable car

    How about a subtle de-badge..!

You could edit the sales pitch they use:

    "its not a skoda... honest"

Until BMW went 'ugly' you could have stuck a VW or BMW badge on them and everyone would have believed it

Well i bought one a week ago and i think it's great. Nothing wrong with the interior, handling is fine, better than a lot of others on the market. Oh and by the way it looks buggar all like the Rover 400 series??? What's that all about.
Fast reliable street sleeper. Nuff said. I'm away to enjoy mine.

I'd have had one had it not been for the poor resale values. It meant i could get a bargain to start with, but it would have lost more than the Cupra R, which i got for a steal anyway!

I had an Octavia vRS for about 6 months. It was brilliant. The engine pulled beautifully (180bhp) and the handling was great. Very well put together too.

I also like the styling - the side profile in particular looks awesome.

I'd recommend one to anyone. Also the dealers are exceptional.

    Do it!
