Some good photos James - various cars I remember there + some still around today. Probably one for another thread if the guys are ok with us posting the photos? Just posting this one for obvious reasons!
I bought the gauges & pod from the turquoise mk1 g60 after it went to digi put 2 of them into my mk1 but not the boost gauge. I still have it and its going in my mk2 (piece of gti history to me)
I guess the VR'd mk1's must have been seriously sharp in a straight line. Remember them on the sprint at Inters Crowthorne back in the day.... Surely if a boat anchor in a mk2 "compromises" the handling somewhat, surely all that weight in the nose of a little mk1 must drastically alter the character of the car... I thought the fact it was so light on it's toes was what the mk1 was all about!
Back then if you had a 13 sec car you would win the sprint at Inters How times have changed, would you have imagined then there would be 10sec road legal MK1's
How things change, I have that on standard injectors, standard ECU and intake manifold Soon to be doubled (ish..) I'm putting even more weight in the nose.
Actually, I think they are ATS too. Borbet C's have a more rounded profile on the face of the spokes. The earlier pics in page 1 look more like Borbet C's. Gurds
Neil, I'm not being funny but I have been around this 'scene' since 1995 They are not Borbet C, I do know the difference.
Seems the ATSs were on for the mag shoot (the pic above is a scan I took from VW Audi Car ~ May/June '93), and by the time it got to Inters, the Borbets were on. I wonder if the ATSs were borrwed off one of Jim's Mk2s for the feature? I think the boat shoes did exist then, but were having a day off!
