Hopefully should recieve my .5 outer rims tomorrow for my BBS rs`s so i can get them polished this week, i can then get the centres front mounted and see if they fill the arches enough

I dropped off the panels at the powder coaters today, should be ready tomorrow with any luck, Fuel pumps will also be arriving tomorrow so will stay late tomorrow and get it running at last, although it has run for a few seconds before and sounded sweet. This it probably due to the 6800 bill that was in the service records, when it had virtually a full rebuild, I`ll take a pic of the spec

 

Inner wings are solid, will just require a good clean etc

If it had been mint i wouldn`t have got it for such a decent price, I think it would have needed a repaint as the collection of bits the guy was collecting seem to confirm this.

 

What a great thread!! I wonder if his mother would appreciate it finished or if it would be a sad reminder for her?

 

I was allowed to buy it as they new that i was restoring it, I have got to show them once its done.

Regarding the seats i`ve emailded VW and they said i needed to contact VW Classic dept which i have so sourcing the material for the seats is moving forward, Will update you all when i know.

Looked like the previous owner did look after that car, as the shell looks straight and had some sort after goods, such as the Votex/SWG console attachment, Recaro Sport Seats and BBs RMs.

refurbished rad cowling came with the car but is different to the one on it!!!

 

The car had been repaired in the past as you can see microblistering in the paint so will take this right back with 180. the whole car will be primered anyway then a guide coat then flatted and then a top coat in tornado red

 

anyone heard of these trimmers? from one of the hundreds of reciepts

I think i will get it machined on the rear to fron mount it, Views please-don`t tell me its unsafe as i will get the rear machined to fit correctly

 

How does the outer rim sit on the inner barrel. Would that not need machining also

 

good build, you had your work cut out but made it look easy!!

seen the pic for the work done to the Recaro seats. Might give a few places a call to see if they refurbish them.

is there a proper name for these seats other than MK2 Recaro Grey - Red stripe seats lol

 

the outer rim sits on the back face, and when you machine the rear of the centre both inner and out seat on that face
