You don't fancy just fitting a 4 light grille then ?

Mine has the standard one and is fine, but if you disconnect the inner (full beam) lamps I can see why everyone complains about Mark II lights !

Your car will probably have the wiring in there already.

Greg, Claires had the 4 light grill, but i don't like it, prefer the single for sure.

The loom is bought from mattie G (TOP TOP Geezer tbh) - offered to send me loom to try before paying, although I have paid for it before he shipped.

Anjd now have bought the Osram bulbs for 12 off ebay!

    So im happy...

anyone know if you can buy uprated side light bulbs?

    Fair enough !

Sidelights do nothing so no point in uprating them, even if the bulbs are available.

Gotta side with Andy here !

You never use your sidelights to see where you're going which is why I said not to bother.

the only reson you need to update the sidelights is so they dont look so yellow

but ou can probably get led bulbs that are white anyway so i wouldnt bother rich.

ive just got some uprated bulbs ffrom halfords i think there bosche there 100w 80w or somthing like that

althought they say anything over 55W is illegal in a mk2 however for how crap 55w bulbs are i doubt youll be blinding anyone in a mk2

unfortunately i wont need my new bulbs much longer cause of my rallye grill lol!

i was told somewhere that the dim dip thing has to be disconnected to run relays.

and you can still tell you can tell on mine easily that the sidelights are yellow they look really yellow when on on there own, and you can see the really white light at one side of the lense and really yellow light on the other side of the lense when the headlights are on, of course the lenses are much bigger on a jetta anyway
