Ahh, thanks - it was a good day, very interesting track too, although I'd have preferred the Coastal version with the corkscrew.

Hmm - offset might be a bit too cheeky at 33 to run adapters, I'm not sure what you can stretch to on anything other than a MKV, >35 requires a lot of work, but I think the older ones are more forgiving?

Interesting note on the screws being for the tarmac cooling fans, I wonder if that's what the 5 aux holes are for on mine??

External rally cooling fans were outlawed, pre-Group A Escorts (1993 IIRC), when the FIA started quite a lot of wing-clipping, such as reducing max tyre width, and turbo restrictors (40mm => 38mm, year? & => 34mm, 1995).

    Does this point to Sierras?

    Hmmm, Ford, definitely.

I was thinking Ford Escort Cosworth Monte Edition wheels, but.. not close enough:

I'm fairly sure the Escort Monte's weren't the magnesium ones.

Maybe just a mothballed set from the cooling fan days someone ran on their Escort?

Is the bolt dish the same depth as the rally car?

Listed as 16 inch wheels (were the Rally ones bigger in that pic above?) and 4 x 98.

They certainly look the real deal, offsets may have been down to team/driver/stage requirements - so I wouldn't be concerned about that if it's different.

I would be concerned where they've been left to the elements and the paint has bubbled/fallen off, Mg is really porous and does some very strange things. You can x-ray the wheels to ensure they're still safe - depending on how long they've been like that, they may well be scrap. This tends to be in the case of really old stuff though, so a visual check hopefully would be enough to see how deep corrosion runs.

Refurb isn't straight forward either, there's few places will touch them or completely know what they're doing.

They're an ace wheel, but buy knowing they're not straightforward.

WRC in Bamber Bridge know how to deal with them, grindnshine too.

Dymag would also advise a refurber or even take on - at a price.
