Aye you should of, But i suppose you prefer the extra low down torque of the 8v[:[]

Thats pretty much what i wanted to hear...
Den, its going to be pretty hard getting a test drive. Unless im buying the car, I cant really get insured on it. I shouldnt have jacked my insurance in when my car came off the road tbh. It covered me to drive other cars third party. [:x]

For me its not all about the speed if im honest.
I want a piece of motoring history, aswell as a solid motor, sexy looks, and that all important ORIGINAL GTi badge.[:D]

I was thinking of dropping in a KR engine into my 1.8 auto when the bigends went...
The plans for the KR engine went out the window (even though the engine's still sitting in my garage- offers anyone??) And now ive got a 1.6 injection manual in there, ready to go, with just a few last bits that need doing for the MOT.
Although its not a gti, and hasnt got a gti engine in it, Im still happy with myself that i managed to convert it from auto to manual and swap the engine aswell.
I mean who am I kidding, It wasnt ever a GTi, and no matter how much money i put into it it would never be one. I could make it look and go like one, but It just will never actually be the real mccoy.

If i want a gti, I may aswell just buy one. Thats got to be one of the best bits of info Ive had off CGTi!! (sorry cant remember who!?![><])

yeh im not sure about the extra low down torque? people keep saying that the 16 is better at everything, but i drove a 16v round the nordshleife and it didnt feel any differnt to a 8v.

Then that 8v was not std or the 16v was not working well.

tell me about it mate.. There not really what you'd call a cheap motor.
    Im still saving for one.
You thought about selling the 8v? You should get enough for it as youve got a few bits done.
    You say its a 1.9?
    Got any pics?

    VR6 it

GVKs has over 200bhp and lots of torque, should see off most modern hatches, apart from the serious turbo torque ones

the interior is absolutly imaculate, its like brand new still inside. hardly any rust at all, engine has only done 6000 miles so far. how much do u think i could get for it?

i think mine is one of the rareist colours. not sure on that. ive only ever seen one in same colour and it was a driver.

It was a case of 'move aside'... Mr Civic Type R on the A45 recently...

I'm not so sure on these claims that a mk2 valver can dick on a CTR, I left an island in mine when it was 180ish bhp and a CTR easily kept up, then passed me [:^(]

So, my encounter on the A45 with VR power made me smile :p :p

One modern hatch that impressed me recently was the Volvo engined 5 cyl Turbo Focus ST, goes *very* well :)
