going on from the recent thread about over inflated prices for cars for sale, tell us what you value yours at and the rest of us can say if thats OTT ill start. 95 mk3 GTI 16v purple. 3dr, 160k miles... as per the sig really. considering its a really good runner and will go on for ever id expect it to be worth 1800... but would hope for more like 2k
Okay, here goes...... Totally original Mk3 16v, P registered, 3 door, 92k miles, full vwsh, well maintained, loads of receipts for work etc. Rare twilight violet poly paint colour, even rarer with no sunroof! air con all the usual extras. Good condition throughout, 3 previous owners, 4 brand new dunlop sp9000 tyres. Starts first turn of the key everytime, very reliable, no rips or tears in the upholstery etc. Original VW alloys that are near mint condition. Basically a good all round example of a mk3 valver, just needs a little bit of paint on one sill and by a window seal which will be done before the summer and it will be one of the best examples around. Im going to give mine an optimistic price of 2500 There arent many examples left that havent been tinkered with!
mines a OAK GREEN runout edition so its worth like 1000000, but as its had a new engine and lots of things done to it, id let it go for anything over 2000
1983 Mk1 Golf 1.3 Driver bodyshell. Mars red with black bonnet, drivers door and only one front wing fitted. No drivers door handle. Interior stripped. Cracked windscreen. Red stripe GTI interior (in the loft), Zender roof spoiler (in the kitchen), 5x BBS RZ alloys (currently on my g/f's Mk2). 1.8 BR Motorsport/TSR engine 140bhp (on a trolley out of the car), twin Weber DCOE Carburettors (also in the kitchen), Neuspeed anti-roll bars (lying in the shell), spare windscreen (lying in the body shell), Eibach suspension kit (not on the car as the shell has no suspension on it at all). Mk2 16v servo & master cyl (not fitted), Goodridge braided brake lines, 4-1 tubular exhaust manifold (bolted to back of engine on trolley- out of car), Magnex stainless exhaust system (not fitted), Powerflow stainless exhaust system (fitted but soon to be removed), Mk2 16v Tarox groved/vented front brakes with Audi 90 calipers (bolted to driveshafts hanging out of gearbox on engine on trolley), rear disc brakes from Mk2 GTI (fitted to "wrong" rear beam) Cat 1 alarm/immob (acutally fitted - but no battery on the car - it is pretty immobalised though), Kenwood MD head unit, CD changer, Infinity speakers, Kenwood remote, etc, etc, etc, (all in a box in the loft)... De-badged grill, crystal headlights, loads of other stuff from Inters last year (all lying in boxes in the kitchen/bedroom/loft). What'cha reckon? I think as it is it the moment it's worth about fifty quid!! (That's what I paid for last years project - which was in a similar state when I picked it up). Once it's finished and had a full re-spray I reckon about 1500+ but it'll not be for sale anyway...
My '97 P-reg mk3 golf GTI 16V, Mystic Blue, 5dr, air-con, 53k miles, milltek exhaust, weitec shocks, spax springs, tt comps, hella celis angels, + more... 2 previous owners, 1st owner main dealer, FVWSH. Value 3200... also agreed value with insurance, so can't be far off. Worth more to me though. Or about 2.2k for standard car and a bit more for the mods.
Yup, brought it with genuine 33k on the clock, I know some say VW engines will last for ever, but at least I know the interior/doors/other things that degrade over time haven't suffered so much.
just make sure you keep it clean and that it doesnt rust. ill be sending mine in for bodywork this summer to cure the rust. when thats gone it really should last.
Well my '02' Seat Arosa TDI with 37k is worth 4400 given that prices range from 5000 to 4200 with my mileage on autotrader 3800 according to parkers But priceless to me Sorry thats awful! Well mine was worth not too much as paint work was baggo on the car front but since my accident this saturday it comes with a fresh new front and all newly painted
all too dear apart from garfayliu's mk 1 and the low mileage mk3. I knew some gimp who paid 3000 fro a mk2 8v with 80K on the clock from a future classics dealer.
1.0E Open air Lupo. Black. Mint inside and out. Just had first service at cost of 250 with VW. Keep fit windows, No central locking. And the best thing is its just clocked 9000 miles Will let the wheels go too as i might not need them on my new car. I bought it for 6k. Im hoping for the same back!
They were But i really do have them on Yup. If i sell it in the hot weather i should get my money back!
Ok P-Reg (1997 Registered) Flash Red 5 door 16v. 80k with FSH (either dealer or VW specialist). Car is near standard with only mods being Exhaust, tinted windows, VR6 front splitter, has sunroof and rear headrests. Car is in excellent condition. Value thinking 2k and hoping to get that very soon as i need a bigger car !
excellent, this thread is the perfect complementation to this thread!:http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124502 no sh*t!
yup, i started this thread after having had a thought about your thread. id put mine at 1.8k because its got the stuff on it that someone else would want, hence they wouldnt have to go through the hassle and get a car with it all already done. i think 3k+ for garlarfiu's car is ott. its got low mileage and thats about it
