Bloke at work where I started last week has a Focus ARSE, what would I need to teach him a lesson hypothetically speaking?

    MK1 Scirocco with a 1.8T/VR6?

    R32?

    MK1 Golf with similar?

    Just in general really.

Saw him get onto the dual carriageway behind me after work and I'd forgot what someone driving a "fast" car looks like as they pass you. [:s]

I'd so like a fast MK1, but then again everyone on here would I think.

Edc1 you'll have to explain that to me? [:s]

the ford is standard yet powerful.
to match that with a VW you would need an untouched golf or what have you, not a fettled one.

where as the mk1 with a 16v is modified not standard,

    but a mk2 would be-though still untouched

Yeah just don't get what context your putting it into?

That's more like it, nice editing. I'm a bit thick.

A MK1 Golf with a 16V engine is a mod'd VW but would be faster but a MK2 16V would be standard but as fast that sort of thing?

If you just want to 'beat' him/her then a lightly modded mk1/2 with a power hike might do it. A beating in a standard VW probably isn't going to happen. On paper a Corrado VR6 or R32 would push it close in a straight line but I woudn't call that a beating and the FRS probably won't romp away on the twisties but I doubt you'll get close to attempting a pass. Throw a load of money for a modded VW then you could make most of them out handle or out sprint a FRS.

I asked coz I read this:

16 valves, two litres, turbocharged, with 212bhp and, according to Ford, 144mph potential and the capacity to accelerate from 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds.
Electronically restricts the normal 228lb ft torque peak to 177lb ft in the first two gears

Which to me, ok it's only 2 litres, but against a VR6 it doesn't look all that you'd think it would be for a newer car?

Taking the slowest figures I could find with a quick search: 0-60 (secs) 6.7 . Top Speed 143mph.
Peak power 190bhp (140kW) at 5800 rpm. Peak torque 181lb ft (245Nm) at 4200 rpm

weight plays a big part in the lower gears with these modern cars, its all the airbags and stuff. They come out with big bhp claims but they need it, its not extra power its power to put them back to where they were before all the extra weight. If ya see what I mean. probably not

That I do understand (I'm just a stupid northern monkey you see) Cheeky bugger. :p

ABS, traction control, some bits to reduce the torque to 177lbs ft rather than 212 so it doesn't torque steer you off the road in the first two gears, air con, airbags, thick carpets, sound proofing side impact bars etc etc.

Against a car lighter to start with regardless of it's on paper performance.
