No mods... not got any planned at the moment either.... it's my daily hack, and I took out the fixed price service/maintenance/tyres option... so don't wanna shoot myself in the foot....

Makes sense to keep it as it is then.

plus, it's pretty much quick enough as it is for the moment, and at 50+MPG average... that's pretty reasonable too.....

I may yet get bored.....

    Got any plans for yours?

Cheers Andy! Test drove an Ibiza Cupra TDI before the vRS & although it was quick, I couldn't see myself driving it every day. It was too stiffly sprung, uncomfortable & too expensive [:s]. The quality of finish was better in the Skoda & value for money, you can't beat it! [:D]

As for mods, maybe a set of Eibach springs to drop it slighty & them a remap, but I want a few thousand miles on the engine before I do that.

;) I sell these for a Skoda dealership. They are so much fun. You do know you can get the ECU remapped to 180bhp and rediculous torque.

Great car anyway, congrats for buying one!

Oh, I'm well aware of the figures for a remap!!

It's quick standard, so remapped will be quite nice! ;)

    Quick update.

    Replaced OEM airbox intake......

......with SEAT Ibiza Cupra TDI intake!

Removed the baffle from front panel duct & smoothed out.

All I need now is a Green Cotton panel filter & Jabbasport remap.... ;)

My friend has one of these in red, absolutely blinding car. Recently had the turbo changed for one off of a golf... ...he assures me they're different, and had it remapped. (excuse my ignorance if he's pulling my leg, as I'm still learning) had a front mounted intercooler fitted, and claims around 220Bhp.

Took me for a spin, I thought my dad's merc denzil was fast, nope the skoda is sooo much quicker :)

Had the car remapped yesterday with some good results! ;)

Seems that the Cupra intake is feeding too much air in & causing it to overboost at higher revs. As a result the engine reverts to limp mode! [:s] Even on the standard map the boost is held for longer than normal.
More fuelling could have been added to compensate, but this would make it smoke like hell!
Gonna try it with the standard intake pipe on & see if this resolves the problem.
    Anyway, I'm quite pleased!!

if so, thought you only need discs and pad carriers?

Standard ones are 288mm discs, but you do need the calipers as they are different.

312mm from Octavia vRS (also Golf 4motion, Audi TT, S3, SEAT Leon Cupra 180).

think the mk4 requires just the disc/carriers for the uprade tho.
