I have yoko A539's and love them. (slightly cheaper than the Prada's). There have been many comments made where people dont rate them but I had a mate out in the car the other night in the wet and he was impressed with the grip I had even in standing water.

    can't fault them.

I had parada's on my golf for a while. I used to get yoko's quite cheap so I've had 539's, s608's etc. The parada's were by far the worst ones. Yoko's are never good in the wet but they were dangerous.

539's were pretty good in the dry. I use continentals now, just as good in the dry, MUCH better in the wet!

Mate has got the PARADA's on his lancia Delta track toy which he uses at the ring and rates them very highly!

The type R boys rate them as well!

Think I'm gonna give em a go. I want a tyre that is good enough for road and occasional track day. They can't be any worse in the wet than the Avon's I have got on at the moment. Will let you know if any good.

I have driven an S4 with Prada tyres. Perfect in the dry, but in the damp they are a nightmare, unpredictable. 539's were great in the dry, and not too bad in the wet.

Well I've been running around over the weekend getting a feel for my new tyres and my first impressions are good. Good feedback, loads of grip, comfortable, low noise. I am looking forward to seeing how they perform in the wet[}:)]

Can't comment on the other brands. Been using same set of 539's for 4 year's on various vehicles, including 2 trackdays, still loads of tread (bit skitty when damp [:$] ) otherwise grippier than your nans nipples;) .

Bad! I had to let tyres down to about 20psi to get anywhere. In all fairness they are not a snow tyre. Not to bad when all the snow melted and turned the roads into small rivers.
    Size I'm using is 195/50x15

the site up there said they were unhappy when cold.

the sidewalls are apparently pretty rigid. notice that at all?

finally, is your GTI better on 195s?
