Fitting my big bumpers I had the car on full lock with the front end in the garage, after a few hours of being on the floor cleaning underneath etc i was anxious to check the look and was too quick coming out of the garage and scratched one side.... had to replace it the front when I got them painted.

Also bought a VW cab after falling in love with it on sight, externally was mint, but the rear arches and sills were fecked ! (wont ever make that mistake again !)

unbolting the rear axle of a (someone elses) golf that was being supported on axle stands at either end of the rear beam. Almost amputated most of my fingers when the weight shifted with a bang.
    Was only changing springs.

leaving my foot on the clutch in traffic, slipping and jumping into a tow bar. got it resprayed as soon as after that.

friend of mine would wedge a penny in the dump valve on his g60 cause is sounded better and oddly enough dented his bonnet from the inside

Jacked the car up on a hill to look at why the handbrake was a bit dodgy. I thought I had the gear in reverse. It turns out I didn't. The weight of the car made the jack topple and the car began to roll. One of the only times I almost sh*t my pants. [xx(]

Dropping the Mk1 down after a days hard slog underneath.... with the axle stand sitting under the sill :(

Oh, and in a scrappy, much to my then fiance's amusement, trying to jack up a Scirocco to get some bits off it, without realising it was sat on mud, and had another 2 cars stacked on top..... [:$]
