A really nice project, i will be keeping an eye on this. Your ET looks a lot lower than 32 tho. Have you spaced the fronts as the rear has tuck. Also any particular reason you have machined the rocker cover flat?
Thanks.. I have spaced the front and the back with 5 mm,but it looks like I need some more at the back to make it right.. The cause of the machining of the cover,is to fit the coils down on the plugs for sure..And the "ribs" on the cover would be in the way for them to fit perfectly..
Is here anyone who has experience with using a modified KR exhaust cam as a inlet cam? I know this has 0.7mm longer valve lift than the original KR inlet camshaft.. 1.8i 16V KR 103kW/139PS Einlass: 212 9,6mm Ventilhub / Auslass: 226 10,3mm Ventilhub
search for GVK on here as i am sure he used to run a modified exhaust cam in his 16v. Keep up the good work & good luck. Allan
Thanks for info. I`ll try to figure out what cams I will use at a later time. Yesterday I mounted up the original KR inlet cam with adjustable chain pulley.. Made some marks to know where to put it back I am also finished welding the intake tubing, maybe I will send them away for powdercoating.. Got myself some AN10 weld bung nipple for the catch tank hosing, hoppe to get them welded this week.. About the clutch. Some say it is hard to do a gearchange when highrevving the engine.. What was needed to strengthen to improve this problem? Thanks, Andreas
Not much have been done on the Golf lately, only fitted some new injector bungs from Audi S2 manifold..Ordered some more AN fittings to make hosing for the oil catchtank also Have been working on our S2 track car project now, with welding in a rollcage.. Some pics for those who want to see Sandblasted the underbody and engine bay.. Primer Welded in a new exhaust tunnel and made the boxes for the cage.. And some work progress on the rollcage.
I`ve been having some minor problems with the ignition setup with the E6X.I think the cam home signal is a bit out of function, cause I cannot get any spark at all..Will look trought the trigger diagnostics some more, but I hope to get it sorted out this weekend Cheers, Andreas
Been a while since last update, but there is nothing big to write about in here. Things is going slowly but for sure Fitted new Goodrigde brake hoses, and a new brake master from Sport quattro which is 23,81mm. Need to sort out some oil leak from the oil pan,and from the oil filter housing before cranking it up again. Some pics... OMP Corsica fits perfect with the CAE shifter
Car is soon ready for mapping now.The sound of it running is amazing, wonder how it will be if I fit the ABF camshafts.I am missing some small bits like oil catch tank, fit the roll bars in front/rear and make some new carriers for the Brembos in aircraft alu. Gearbox is also adjusted and ready for action, tested it outside our workshops place.Works great. I am a bit worried if the radiator is big enough for trackdays, and driving it in the Dynapack. Worst case scenario a custom alu. radiator is an option, there is not much more space there. As it stands right now. Carriers that need some minor modifications in Solid Edge
