Looks very nice Ess  do you have any more pics of this and are you still going with 8 injector? Anyway are the rampipes 120mm under that filter?

    Cheers...
Probably won't add any extra power, but, you have to try!

I'm still planning 8 injectors, hardware finished and fits, just fuel lines to do.
Engine loom finished, just 6 more wires to run along the car loom and complete the wiring of the ECU.

I'm not running 120mm ram pipes, no.
I have 60mm ram pipes + 20mm spacers + 2 x 6mm alloy plates + the backplate - approx 100mm, with the option of adding another 20mm using a 22.5 degree curved spacer behind the alloy backplate - giving roughly 120mm - if it'll fit.

As the pics above show, it all fits at 100mm equivelant length.

I have loads of pics, just not many uploaded yet.
    Here is a few:

I'll upload some others at lunchtime, if I get chance.

Maybe look at lowering the front engine mount slightly may help.

I have a solid bad-boy to go in...so that's always an option, easily done.

    60mm Bill...
    With 20mm spacers behind, 2 x 6mm plates and a 4mm backplate.
I'd like to go to 90mm if I have the space and can get a taller filter in.

I don't have a side view I'm afraid...I'll try to grab one next time I do a trial fit.

    righto

Drawn up some adaptors, which would be 10mm thick, and transition from the DTH 2 bolt fixing to the SF Curved spacer which is 4 bolt, allowing fixing of the 22.5 degree cast bend to down angle the airhorns. Combinations of the curved SF bodies in a pair would yield a 45 degree angle

Sent off the dwg to machine shop this morning for quote.
Wondering what the interest would be from here.

    cheers

I thought the SF adaptor could be bolted up to a DHT body, Bill?
I thought you'd said previously they would bolt up.
    Is this not the case?

If you are having some adaptors made, I'd be interested in a set...along with the SF curved bends.

Should be intresting to see the differnce they would make over the 120mm horns
I;ll try the airbox and filter setup that Jenvey have in the morning too

It will physically bolt up, but the bolt hole angles are different, so the curved SF bodies will angle away, sweeping left or right.

straight SF bodies do bolt on.. I used them as spacers on my jetta at one point, before I used the DCOE style spacers Jenvey also make.

Jenveys sell adaptors for DCOE to SF but the holes are wrong centres end to end.

The ones I have drawn up, have come back costed to sell at 15 each + vat

    Ahh...OK.
So what's the order with your spacers Bill?
DTHs - Badger5 adaptors - SF curved spacers?

I can get the SF 22.5 degree spacers welded to the rear of my fabricated backplate...just need a way of attaching the Jenvey SF curver spacers to their DTH bodies.

I've ordered some SF 22.5's in and will get some of the spacer/adaptors knocked up to prove the concept..
I may get the jenvey bits tomorrow, adaptors in a few days maybe

    Quick update here too,

The jenvey box is fine with the ABF water pipe clears it no problem.
It wont fit past the ABF alternator and it catches on the Jenvey fuel rails as mentioned.
20-25mm spacer would be needed to fit a flat plate but then the 120mm trumpets are still too long.

I tried the ebay filters and they are very tight almost ripping the material.
The original pipercross ones I have have ripped two already not sure if its from the bonnet or the trumpet outer lip.

I got my angle plate protractor on the bodies on the mk2 in the w'shop tonight, and 22.5' looks to bring the 120mm airhorns down nicely.

will need to build it up to check 100% tho

    more soon...

This is where the adaptors should come in handy.
10mm thick is a nominal thickness I have done them on autocad so far

the adaptor plates will screw into the bodies, with countersink screws to flush, and onto them the curved SF bodies will 4-bolt onto the plates, onto which the airhorns can bolt onto 2 of the 4 holes.. (enlarge the clearance hole by approx 1mm diameter I think so they line up judging by jenveys dwgs.)

Bill, which box would you use when you use the spacers?

Hmmm. not got that far yet.
radiator top hose on the mk2 with me will be next thing to get in the way me thinks

Personally, when I tested these things years back on my old jetta, I gained torque and power spread the longer I made the intake... to the point I ran out of room, pretty much right up to the scuttle panel in the end. only short ram pipes fit the available boxes/dome filters, which I have an aversion towards because of this. Spacing the inlet side out of them, pushes the backplate fwd, and into other things like rad hoses.. for full on installation, I would drop the rad, or make shorter one, so the induction has more room, and re-route the top hose so its not in the way

I have some bits coming from jenvey to play again, so I'll post up how it goes.
    regards
    bill
