riley , i "think" they should operate like this.....

start up..constant glow in ok section

once warm ..cycle between bottom of scale to ok while crusing

wot.. one lit led hopefully in ok section

back off throttle while moving..no lit leds until idle is reached

think im going to ebay mine anyway, theyre not at all accurate anyway, and ive got a wideband tuner to randomly check its ok

yeah, suppose it may be worth trying one of the old ecu's(forgotten how many have/maybe havent died) cant remember what chips ive got either [:$] i dont have a standard pully for it,it came with a 68mm and i bought a new 68mm for some reason [:s] (thought the orig was 70mm [:$] )

    neil.

yeah, thinking about it,theres no way they can be acurate really is there? bit gimmicky really...

it now does all the above, but at wot it goes fully rich,is that not right ?

    neil. :)

  3. pigbladder Forum Addict

no i believe it should go ok at wot, fully rich is too rich

ive had that one for years and a summit racing one before that, over those years they both read the same even though ive some way rich chips in it etc that varied wildly on the wideband

pretty much a gimmick i think, im sure it could be way out without registering..so its pretty worthless

  4. Does it run OK at WOT and at initial totally cold startup? Because at WOT and cold it ignores the probe, and runs off the map..........

    aye,agreed on that m8

mmmm, ill maybe have to look into the fully rich thing then.i cant remember which chip im running at the mo,sns stg 5 i think...

    or just get rid.
you can probably tell,im not even excited by the fact that the problems gone away [:s] i dont know why? it just dosnt interest me anymore i reckon.

    neil.

parz,it sits steady on 'ok' at cold start up
ive never gone full throttle when cold to check, but upon driving it seems to lean off and then start fluctuating.

    neil. :)

I would just bin the meter tbh riley, if nothing else it's just making
you ask questions that don't actualy exist. Reminds me of my old boost
gauge, that read 15psi for a few weeks, then dropped to 6psi, after
    checking/testing/replacing/cursing/swearing/bleeding etc at loads of
other parts, tuned out it was fine and the gauge was talking

what tsc said....it will ignore the o2 sensor on cold warm up and wot all the time(not just cold)...it uses a pre set map

yeah agree on getting shot of the gauge, it prob confusing matters even more

Nice one Neil, now get shot of it while it is running well, spend the money on a flight to Duostyling's office and kick someone square in the baws [:D]

Makes you wonder how many other people have these gauges and how much they've spent trying to find out what's wrong!!!!!

Does the documentation specifically tell you to tap off from the existing narrow o2 sensor for the gauge?

  17. pigbladder Forum Addict

yeah trev it does, as do many other brands

My Duo`s been great, it only reads the narrowband sensor so anything above 15:1 and below 14:1 is guesswork anyway.

I`ve got the wideband in now but still kept the guage, nice to see closed loop`s working ok.

It should be pegged on the rich/top on boost, if not the 02 sensor isn`t supplying enough current.
