Yeah gearbox is sorted. Driveshafts i can use the 16v ones. Still need the 100mm 02a drive shaft cups to fit to my 02j gearbox though.

This is my secret to getting the air box on to the mk2 side. A Passat Turbo that sits the other way around.
I bought a cheap scrap one to check clearances before spending loads on one that works. But might be able to swap the internals from my turbo to this one. They are both K03 so they should be the same. Or I could just get a K03s or K04 passat one while I'm at it. We will see.

It fits great mounted to the mk4 golf exhaust manifold. Loads of clearance for the mk2 rear engine mount. Very happy. The compressor side housing might need to be rotated a bit to clear the bulkhead but that isn't to bad on these. Will just have to make a custom mount for the wastegate actuator. And I will need custom oil and coolant lines to use this. All this for the air box on the mk2 side. Well and the exhaust will have a better route too. Not so close to the steering rack boot.

Have a look at Prawn's A3 track car on here, 1.8T with a TFSI K04 Turbo, mounts similar to the one you have there, it would be a nice power upgrade.

    Thanks Sirguydo.

I will check his thread out. Think I might go K03s instead though. Seem easier to get hold of in good condition and the same price as the K03. Would need a different exhaust manifold to fit a K04. Maybe in the future if I feel the need for more power

Seems that on the tfsi setup the turbine housing is part of the exhaust manifold. And the stud pattern is different on the head. Prawn made an adaptor apparently. But looks like the turbo would sit to low and foul the engine mount in a mk2 though.

Got to love how well this fits with the mk2 mount on. Looks like it was designed like this. I might even be able to use the standard inlet piping flipped round. That would be cool. Just would need to rotate the compressor housing.

Sorry guys, lost this thread for a while. No real updates. Being lazy.

Pulled it out and wash it at the same time I was doing the mini. Cleaned up very nice. Got very dusty sat in my unit.

Also took the digifiz clocks out to have the odometer corrected to what the car should actually be. Was quite a bit higher and getting a bit close to the limit. Took the circuit board out and just sent that off to be safe.

Love all the touches and the attention to detail! Have to say though, my heart genuinely dropped when the 1.8t entered the picture, this would be epic with a 200bhp valver on kjet in it, or as suggested a homebrewed 16vt.

My 2ltr 16v on kjet was running 151hp and that was when it wasn't running properly [:s]
My gti engineering and oettinger engines run 170 BHP on kjet
Members have had upto and just over 200 bhp on kjet :o
Wouldn't call them slow in a lightish car such as a Mk2 we're not talking 150 hp from a fat turbode mk4 +

    Thanks!

Yeah I know. Like i keep saying I keep swinging back and forth about doing it or not. I'm on the side of not atm. Will still build the engine as a side project though. If I don't put it in this then I will get another mk2 shell and have it all stripped out to put it in.
