Thanks to sc0rion for pointing out a fault with the billet bushes, they are clashing with the bolts on the rallye mounts. I'll just machine a notch in them to clear the bolt head.

I don't really want to make a spacer and have the subframe sat another 5mm away from the body.

8x17's, but they are 45 profile tyres so quite big.

Wheels and tyres look superb in those arches! Always good to have plenty of wheel travel without demolishing the arches!

OK, so here's the problem. with the back axle lowered as far as it will physically go...

Coupled with a large dose of toe in. I don't know how to measure it, but looking across the face of the wheel, it's pointing to the INNER face of the front wheel....too much.

So, my theory was to slot the rear arm mounting holes and use the previously mentioned slotted bar and eccentric bolts. I was goin to do the camber adjustment on the inner mounting, and the toe adjustment o the outer mounting. My theory failed. unfortunately I can't have horizontal adjustment on the outer mount as it just pushes the wheel into the rear bumper. So what I've had to do is slot the inner hole on and angle. so it dials out camber and toe in at the same time. I've kept the outer adjusment so mostly camber only.

At a sensible ride height I can now get down to 1.0 degrees camber and what looks like zero toe (no way to truly measure it at the moment but here's how it looks.

Outer mounter in max camber adjustment position (proably only used when drag racing to give zero rear camber). I'm only getting about half a degree of adjustment from the outer mount. I wouldn't bother fitting these, but i'd already slotted the hole so I may as well.

shown with original bolt position. I'm going to slot the holes on an angle forward and upwards. The car is upside down here of course, so that would be down and to the right on that pic.

I'll grind the excess metal off the plates once they are welded in position. They don't need to be that big, and won't be when I'm finished.

I can answer that one very easily....."everything".

Hmmm... I may be selling the jenvey's to fund the carbon roof, Performance Trim just emailed me to say they are doing a run of 10....

Can't afford to. Need to order the roof now. Unfortunatley my bike needs a new back tyre and a service and the van needs a remap, alarm and some paintwork.

Complex stuff on the axle - why won't it give cambers in the range you want anyway, since I assume it's all Syncro/Rallye stuff?

The adjusters look handy - are they specfic to the application?

The slots are pretty long - strengthen after?

Good to see more progress

(and please sod the van remap and paint ;) )

Where abouts did you get your simpson harness from?
I've been trying to find a UK supplier with no luck

    Thanks

harnesses were bought off Edition38. they are popular with the beetle boys and drag racers.

chris, bolts are off an audi A6, plates were designed by me. the plates strengthen the slot, they are effectively doubling the thickness of the material

problem is the syncro sits so high, so even at a moderarely lowered ride height the geometry goes all to cock.

van paint can wait, but remap and alarm needs doing. might lay the bike up for the winter and get a new tyre next year, but last year i was still riding it right into december.

still in talks with performance trim about the carbon roof, so something has to give and it's probably going to be the ITB's.....but more of that later, I may have a nice surprise in store but I can't say much at the moment ;)

A standard plenum would be an ideal starter - Norman Coal had just the same issue. Big build and tons of fabrication potential in doing TBs. Binned that idea, did the chassis as needed and put a VR in, and got a year's use. Believe phase two is now underway.

Agree that carbon is probably the best roof solution, no matter the cost.
