I'll leave that to the people who know what they're doing.. last time I tried anything DIY, I ended up spending 200 to put it right!

(took the steering wheel off and snapped the squib.. never again)

hehe... I suppose I can't blame Vpower, but it was a coincidence, and it was a lesser V**haull Corsa that couldn't decide what to do so slammed on their brakes, giving the van behind that and me no chance.

Anyhow, Blitzchip was a very easy install. Matt, the power goes past 6400rpm, but tails off just under 7krpm, so prob only gained an extra 200-400rpm. But saying that I haven't hit the rev limit yet, unlike when I first got the car (standard chip), had it bounce off the limit once during overtaking, not sure what rpm that was though.

I'm just intrigued to see what my curves look like.

my plot was wierd first time round due to the dodgy fuel pressure reg.

my power seems to have extended past 6.4k.

knowing my luck, my car will show 140bhp or something silly lol

hey matt, i know the main difference between your abf and mine. Yours has done 3 times as many miles as mine!! does that mean every 50kmiles adds about 10bhp!!

prob wouldn't be able to tell until you look at the clocks though. where's photek got to? must be busy at work, unlike some people here, hijacking his thread to avoid work! or is that just me.

youll see it in the paint from a mile off. the paint has suffered through stone chips, but all par for the course really.

once i get the rusty bits done (this summer) the car will be good to last another 12 years

Hey Mark/Photek, hope you got back alright!

Didn't help much in the end, checked all that I knew. replace the vacuum pipe from manifold to ecu. no sign of the maf sensor at all, as the loom for that is part of the carbon canister loom, but that was no where to be found.

Sorry, I couldn't help any further, no signs of the odb port or loom for it :(

    Garfay.

Thanks for all the help today Garfay, I am sure the bits that we replaced / cleaned needed to be done anyway. I can't help thinking its a sensor that is causing the problem as it clears as soon as the oil temp reaches 50!

Gonna stick a new ISV on and if that doesn't fix it I will take it to storm and get them to sort it out!

    Cheers,

    Mark.

    Rich,

When you do bin your air box let me know as I want to get one as a spare for when I am cleaning the BMC out.

I might even enjoy the peace and quiet with out an induction kit

    Ok,

thought I had better post the outcome of all this. Got the car back yesterday and the cause of the cold start problem was..... Fueling issues. Both fuel pumps were knackered and even once they were replaced there was no pressure so a secondary fuel pressure regulator has been added to overcome that problem.

Also fitted an Air Intake Temp sensor, ISV and new rocker cover gasket.

Only thing I am not sure about is that the garage said that the fuel rail might be buggered. Is this hard to come by or fit?

Car is better but not perfect and I think it is over fueling now.

When you say secondary fuel pressure reg, i take it you mean new replacement (think there only about 25 from ECP)

As for the fuel rail, not cheap new i'd imagine as the injectors and rail are all one piece, may have to try a second hand one and see if it makes any difference

I take it you also have a lambda probe fitted? Possible reason for over fueling (not sure just an idea)?

I get the fuel rail come up at 86 +VAT I think.

That's a good point Carl mentioned, we didn't check your lambda probe properly, just knew that the loom and connection was stuck ontop of the suspension mount!

Storm didn't happen to sort out the diagnostic port for you did they?
