ABF Problems

    Yeah deffo worth getting the diagnostics plug sorted out. Just go the scrappy, get a 16pin type from agolf, passat, whatever, leaving the cables in the port and cut them off with plenty of length left.

    To wire it up, the diagnostic line is pin no 43 from the ecu (should be a grey cable, its probably lurking behind the dash/fusebox somewhere). Connect this to the grey wire on the diagnostics port. Then you just need to wire up a live to the red wire (make sure its a live with a full 12 volts when ignition on) and an earth which is either black or brown. There will probably also be a yellow wire on the diagnostic plug, which is normally for something like ABS, so just tape it up out of the way

    And there you have it, VAGCOM can be your new friend. Think you can use it then to check your lambda
