    airstrip?

on my own personal airstrip my car doesnt get as much traction lol

highline you going t london volks festival this weekend ?

we could a side by side to see where the differences are

think i remember your car at inters spinning up the track seriouse lack of traction maybe better of running much lower boost

i think you`d be surprised wot a T70 turbo can do [:D] , theres 2 of these engine under my belt not that i built them but had a good hand in them though, one them has been in a mag, clocked just a measley 160mph at 5500rpm on GPS hit the ecu limiter that only 17mph behind the fastest car in the pvw hall of fame and i`ve got another 2000rpm to hand now , on standard tyres clocked 13.1 at 113mph with no traction pathetic time tbh theres defo more in it, next time it goes to the pod i`ll have more traction, thing is i like understated that`s why you dont see my cars an i like it that way

Doesn't the Final drive of the gearbox play a part as well as the rev limit.

As for the thread, I think you'll acheive more from a 3K 20VT (useable power, handling) than you would on a 3k VR6.

Final drive ratio, in fact its not as simple as that, its a little more complicated, does have an effect on times. Basically you do it like this:

    1. Decide how many gears you're going to use up the strip
    2. Look at the dyno plot of your engine and find the max power band (eg, 5200-6800rpm)
    3. Set your top gear so you just reach your max power band as you cross the finish line
    4. Space out the other gears so you stay within the max power band
    5. 1st tends to be where you lose traction, so you don't need to worry too much about the power (for some of it you'll be at part throttle anyway, to avoid wheelspin), rather set it so top of power band in 1st gives bottom of power band in 2nd.

Of course, a lot of it is iterative and also depends on how fast you can change gears. eg. is it worth going for less gears if your car has a wide enough power band, to save the time in changing the gear?

I wish i could run small wheels with big tyres im stuck with a 215/35/18 cant even let them down for traction ! I have some slicks for my wheels but the tyres hit the spring seat !
