hi. I have found a relay (a "normal" one: 87, 87a) that gets RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREALLY hot so I think it is why the whole fusebox gets hot.

if I unplug it, then the air conditioning does not work, and neither does the radiator fan!

and finally, I have found only an earth wire going from the fusebox to the chasis.. and this wire goes out of the relay I said 3 lines upper.

    er..............Z2?

I tried and find the corrado KR 1989 fusebox' rear wiring diagrams, but I wasn't able to find it in the forum :(

    Instead, I found post-90 :(

    oh yes, I forgot, sorry.

I have been having a look at corrado wiring diagrams and there is a wire going from fusebox Z2 (as you say :)) to the "-" of the battery.

There is also another one going from the radiator cooling fan to the "-" battery.

thank you very much, I hope my C won't set on fire...

    hey, just another question:

how can I trace a wire (i.e.) from the engine bay to the fusebox? I mean, since the firewall is in the middle, how can I know where a wire ends?

tricky, what you can do is make a extension wire for your multimeter probe, but its a pain.
I would start by replacing the a/c relay with another, see if that helps at all. if not you need to look into the A/C & fan wiring to figure out why its getting so hot!

    ok :)

but I think it is strange that if I pull the relay which is attached on the upper section of the fusebox (looking at [IMG] it would be sitting like in pos. 20 [:s] ), both A/C and radiator fans stop working....

    should'nt A/C relay be pos. 1??

I have borrowed (:)) a pic from this forum to show you some connectors I have in the back of my fusebox. You can see the blue ones on the following pic (the ones on the top):

so, if you look at the following picture, where are these blue connectors supposed to be plugged in??:

relay sounds like it might be part of the fan control system, i beleive the a/c wont cut in unless the fans are on? whats the part number on this relay

I just swapped it with the one I have for my uprated headlight loom (for low beam).

    how do you know they are P Q R U1 U2?
I have many of these connectors in my fusebox... will this "characters" be written anywhere? I believe I have more than 5 connectors. thhankssssssssss

the back of the fusebox has the letters on there, in addition the plugs will only physically fit in the right spot!

    ok, thanks.

these plugs seem all the same in my car, and two of them had their wires burnt & black & carbonised :S

does ce2 fusebox have only an earth wire (Z2)? hmmm only one??

    * I have, in the "cassettes hole" (I don't know if it was an option where you live), a voltmeter and an oil press gauge, connected through a relay (also a 87 87a) and installed by me. I have found that that relay ALSO gets hot.... which drives me to think that all of this heat is produced by nothing in particular, I mean, it might be a dodgy earth wire... but I checked Z2 wire in the back of the fusebox and it is correctly plugged. I have also found that this Z2 wire is really HARD on it's connection to the battery's negative. It is as hard as a stone... may it be causing all of this?

    thanks for looking...

Well, as I assume, these 4 (or 3) wires should be earthed. I only have two earthes from the fusebox: Z2 and an aftermarket one for A/C strange-positioned-relay, so I see I have 3 earth wires missing, or not earthed, or whatever.

    A2
    5 - brn - earth (location 120)

    G1
    5 - brn/wht- earth (cylinder head?)

    U2
13- brn/wht - Dash plug pin 5 (earth & stalk memory switch pin 1)is this an earth?

    Z2- brn - battery negative

could anyone, please, touch their relays & fusebox when having been driving for about 1 or 1.5hrs? and then tell me if relays get warm(ish)? :( I'm desperate about this..

    hmmm:

    positions:
    12 fuel pump
    10 fogs
3 (or 4), the one that cuts some electrical elements when cranking.

and some others, but the hottest one, is fuel pump.

can you feel the heat on yourself sometimes? I mean, like when you are in front of a fire??
