are you sure the key is original? it shouldn't matter how many keys are matched as long as one of them is detected. maybe the reader coil has packed in, worth trying another

i think if you look in the clocks measuring blocks you should see if a chip is recognised, been a while since i scanned mine

what fault codes are you getting ?
if it was me I'd try clearing all the faults and then pull the power/battery off for 10 minutes reconnect clear fault codes and try again
also what vdcs lead do you have ?

what are your laptops running bud vista or windows 7 plus
it can be a bit of messing about loading the driver on newer versions of windows if it's a eBay special
the last vag commander I got the cd was smashed and they just gave me a link to the driver that i already had when i wanted the software gave up and down loaded a few till i got one that worked

been on it 11 hours now and worse off than when I started ,I got it off ebay I'm using vag com on my netbook running win 7 pro no problem,so tried it ,not working on win 7,wont let me copy instal exec from cd on my window10 laptop to try on my netbook,so take hard drive out netbook put spare in make bootable usb stick as no disc drive copy win xp and load ok,cant copy from cd wont let me,download vag tacho 3 copies install and hey presto none of them will load program onto netbook and all this so I can disable immob on clocks ,would have bin easier to take the led out and stop me going mental, maybe there faulty clocks
