** please help ** I read on a forum that really fast car's have 'floating disks' and thought that if I left the disk retaining screw off the disc would be able to rotate and hence I would have 'floating disks'? However, since putting it all back together they don't float how I imagined - I think this is because of the 5 massive bolts going through them. Should I take these off as well? thanks
ah ok, I think it will be better anyway as my car now rides as though the wheels are an egg shape? I think because I left the disk retaining screw (DRS) off, the disks and then ultimately the wheels arn't centred on the hubs properly. Guess this is a lesson for everyone, the DRS is more important than the wheel bolts. Live and learn I suppose
i think youll find that its down to SCIENCE i cannot search at the moment, but there was a thread about disc screws being there due to SCIENCE. that thread was epic iirc
