Yeah they seem to have held their value, most are advertised over £7k. I'm not getting rid, wouldn't know what to replace it with.
New tyres day today, gone for the new Good Year F1 Supersports that seem to be having rave reviews. Goodyear F1 supersport by GVKmotorsport, on Flickr They're brand new and need scrubbing in obviously, but even from a short drive home from the tyre shop in the wet, less TCS intervention accelerating in 3rd than before, which is promosing. Dull 'looking' tyre though, all of them look the same these days?
They look a bit like a Pilot Sport 4 flipped side to side, but the middle channels are so much wider on those. Need them today for sure.
On the Mk5 i liked Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 and Dunlop SP Sport 9090 tyres Good grip dry and in the rain... and they steer sharp and have plenty safety margin in them
Going to do track day soon, my first for about 10 years!! So to get the Edition 30 ready for a day its going into Maxtreme my local VW specialist for Superpro ball joints to give neg camber, EBC orange race pads and a brake fluid change using Brembo 5.1 fluid. Look forward to thrashing it around Cadwell park. I've been driving like a loon on the road lately, and when people are coming the other way on B roads when i'm using all the road it's not good!
T[he guys doing the work build track cars and the son of the team used to run in BTCC so they know a bit about track day prep. They advised the pads so i'm giving them a go. Will report back of course!
