no thanks i'll stick with my mk2 if it's all the same! 270bhp ATW is adequate enough! when he says about embarassing TT/Boxters/Subarus... does he mean the ones that don't bother to try?? Edited by: Golfboy Chris
Yeah but you are forgetting its producign at least another 105BHP at the tail lights - Altezzas give big gains. So overal its a 300BHP Saxo. Honest.
oh dear another kevin prat that has wasted a load of money, yes it has a reasonable amount of power but those sort of claims?
i think i have a video of that car up agains bullit in his 2.0l 8v normally asperated at pod a few years ago, bullit killed it!
Don't be so quick to doubt it, its mega light car with good power and a big spec, it's not going to be slow by any means. That car has alot of GMC goodies on it, they are a Scottish company who really know citroens inside out, I have seen supercharged saxo's and they are impressive, they fact they are french and normally driven by cowns means nowt. Anyway Boxters and TT's are easy pickings Alan
his claims sound about right to me, a 14.2 1/4 mile seems reasonable. BUT, I dont know which subaru's he'd be embarrassing, a standard 210bhp UK spec old shape Impreza turbo does a 1/4 mile of 14.2, let alone any of the 265bhp+ models (RB5, STi, WRX) or the P1. A 1998 280bhp WRX Impreza does a standing 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds, so bye bye saxo it is.... Better keep the embarrassment to boxters and TT's methinks.... (and even then a 225bhp TT is 14.6 1/4 mile, and a Boxster S is 14.3 standing quarter, so it wont necessarily 'embarrass' them either). Still pretty quick though.
guys , dont be quick to judge. The saxo is a light car. That is QUICK for a saxo. I dont mind other cars that are modded in a tasteful way. Its similar in the way we may mod our golfs. Subtle mods with good engine mods. like my matey with a nova- 2litre turbo. subtle euro look nova which will kill most of the golfs on here! Edited by: CabrioRags
i wasn't being quick to judge it, he has spent a lot of money making it a fast car, and it is a fast car, but really what would you rather drive? a TT or a saxo.
yeah but jon, its like anything. when he bought his saxo he could probably only afford a saxo. Plus he probably wante a szxo. Its like all of us. The amounts of cash we have spent on our cars could have bought us a better second hand car with a bit more 'out of the box' power. But we like modding golfs, so we do it.
if i HAD to buy a brand new car and i was on a budget, i would probably get a vts. for 12,000 brand new it's a bargain! i would never consider a vts over my vr6 because the 2 are in a totally different pedigree, but lets face it, most of us could never have afforded the cars we own if we'd bought them out of the showroom....
What about a Clio Cup - 12,995 or a 106 GTi - 11,795 or a lupo GTI - 12,995 or an Arosa 1.4 16v Sport - 9995 or a mini cooper - 11,700 or a 206 XSi - 11,765
