Yep, sorry, it is 3 wires from the VSS sender on gearbox...I'll post how I'm wiring this tomorrow - would be interested in comparisons.
Just had reports of a mk3 R32 conversion done by the lad who did my loom and immob defeat. He said it went like stink and sounded like a ferrari. So maybe they will run right after all! no power figures as yet.
Of course it will run right but you do need to give the ecu a road speed signal!...The ecu will work FINE iwthout CAN access to instruments/ABS/Airbags etc........To say that mising the ABS etc out will cause the engine to run in limp home mode is the biggest load of BO@@OCKS I have ever heard!.. HAve done may of these conversions on standard management and they ALL run right when they leave.....Run aftermarket ECU's.....Id rather shove wasps up my ar@e!
I'm confident it'll run OK, most of the CAN wires from the clocks etc are in place anyway - I'll get it rolling roaded after it's running in any case, so any issues should be apparant.
My mates dropped a 24v into his rado and got a guy in Bristol to mod the loom and do the ecu defeat.I'll give him a call
yes, he also did the loom for my corrado. waste of time even trying to work out how to do it, just give andy the loom and pay the man.
totally agree with Phatty. Andy met you lot at Croft while Daz was laughing at me fiat, and Paul was getting it on with the armco included the famous cock burger incident
Its fun stripping MK4 looms Mines 95% done, will finish it and compare it with Phatboys one, see if i did it right or not
Part of the challenge in my opinion, and not too hard going if you're prepared to do a little homework on the diagrams...it'll be more satisfying having done it myself.
I presume you mean feed pin 121/54 on the ECU with the signal from the speedo sender?? (T10/6 - Orange)
Ahhhh now I remeber....Forgot all about the cockburger though! ....Did you finally get over your FIAT incident????
Totally agree! Good on you for trying to have a go ...If you need any help/advice just ask or mail me and I will do my best to help you
