Done a DIY wheel refurb and rim polish on my Borbets, as the lacquer was cracking in places on 3 of the wheels - used Nitromors to strip the rim, then spent ages with wet and dry and polishing compound praying I wouldn't have one mullered looking Borbet - result was pretty good I think, they look great on the car. Done 3, got one more to do, but here's a shot of one of the wheels - will post some of them on the car soon, and post up about other work i've done.

you want some nice 9x16 b's like me [:D]... looking forward to making them fit [:|]

is your car just lowered on springs/dampers or do you have coilovers?

i thought those wheels were near mint when you bought them anyway?

I'll stick with the 7.5 A's ta Rich, 9's are HUGE:lol: At least until I get some bargain BBS RM's from ebay.de;)

They were pretty mint, but i curbed one very slightly, and in spots the lacquer was begining to peel and crack - they look nicer with a more polished rim too.

EDIT: yep, just springs and dampers at the mo, should get coilovers soon though.

Well the VR fun was short lived - engines back out, I'm replacing the head gasket, cam chains, guides and tensioners. Was going to fully refurbish the lump, but time/cash won't allow that right now - maybe later in the year.

Anyway, engine ran beutifully for a while, but started developing a slight rattle sound in the chain area - thought it was probably the long upper guide broken up (common prob), but as you can see from the pics, the culprit is the tensioner plate - worn down to the rivets[xx(]

Doing a few other little things I've wanted to sort out since building the car, will post up an update of everything when it's all worked out. Once thats done, I can start looking at the forced induction route again, and sort those long awaited videos[:D] Can't wait to drive it again.

Well, I bent the corner back into shape no probs - the car's going to go to a bodyshop to have the little dent it left under the windscreen and paint repaired. Bloody wind!
