Lovely looking car...proper wolf in sheeps clothing!! [Dad Mode] Go steady in it, Its faster than it looks [/Dad Mode] In all seriousness, be careful! You may well want to consider a Road Angel or such like too..
still not really sure what to do with the cheque! i want to change the rear lenses maybe and also a single lamp grille, (see mk1 styling thread!) tim
i'm very jealous, looks fantastic. Not overpriced if its as good as you say it is! Good stuff, look forward to seeing the pics.
That alternator on the inner wing *I'm fairly sure* gives this car away as the ex-Velos Motorsport car. I last saw it at GTI Festival, Santa Pod, June 2003. It's had a good paint job since then - looks a lot better. Edited by: Chris Eyre
also you can just see in that picture, the strut towers have been cut and extended, 2 inches, to lower the front of the car, tim
Got to be a 2L block with seriously lightened & balanced internals...maybe twin 48s & some hot cams perhaps..
Tricky to be sure about any outputs. I don't know it's origin. All 'hot' 16Vs get quoted in this range. Whether it's a power spike or the indication of a power curve with a large volume underneath it is impossible to say. Did he say how long he'd owned it?
no didnt say how long he had had it, but he got it all sprayed up over the winter for this new season, tim
He was at Castle Combe last year Chris. Pretty sure there are some photos knocking about of him at Donington.
must be true then If he's playing all these cunts tricks (lol @ 16vn20) I would'nt trust him to tell me the time tbh.
Tim - the Mk1 looks sweet, hope the deal works out as planned for you. Wouldn't fancy insuring it but sure someone will do you a decent quote. My old Mk1 16v cost me over a grand to insure with Adrian Flux when I was a bit older than you unfortunately. More pics please when you take delivery! I need another Mk1...
