Lovely looking car...proper wolf in sheeps clothing!!

[Dad Mode] Go steady in it, Its faster than it looks [/Dad Mode] ;)

In all seriousness, be careful! You may well want to consider a Road Angel or such like too..

That alternator on the inner wing *I'm fairly sure* gives this car away as the ex-Velos Motorsport car. I last saw it at GTI Festival, Santa Pod, June 2003.

It's had a good paint job since then - looks a lot better.

also you can just see in that picture, the strut towers have been cut and extended, 2 inches, to lower the front of the car,

Tricky to be sure about any outputs. I don't know it's origin. All 'hot' 16Vs get quoted in this range. Whether it's a power spike or the indication of a power curve with a large volume underneath it is impossible to say.

Did he say how long he'd owned it?

Tim - the Mk1 looks sweet, hope the deal works out as planned for you. Wouldn't fancy insuring it but sure someone will do you a decent quote. [:D]

My old Mk1 16v cost me over a grand to insure with Adrian Flux when I was a bit older than you unfortunately. [:s]

More pics please when you take delivery! I need another Mk1... :p
