Not worth IMO. Yeah it's rare but it's a 15 year old engine! Nowadays I'd rather go for a 1.8T and know parts are easy to source.
Its a 16v G60 instead of an 8v G60, thats the main difference, by the way, i have just done a sex wee in my panties cos that thing rules
G60's are 8v this is out of the ultra Rare (and not rare in the E-bay sense) Golf G60 Limted produced IIRC VW Motorsports division and therefore is a G60 DOHC 16V.
It was the last of the line Mk2. VW Motorsport designed it, and built it. There were only 71 (i think??) ever made. 1 of which stayed in the factory, and 1 was never fully built!! (the engine got sold from VW a few years back. It was 4 wheel dive (syncro). It was only available in 1 colour, and in small bumpers. All of the usual RED GTI trim was BLUE and it has the VW Motorsport badges on instead of the 16v, 8v or G60 badges. It was the fastest, most powerful Golf ever built until the R32 was released. If genuine its only one of 72? VW ever actually built. But there are loads of copies now, and its not so great really A wee bit different, but not really spectacular
