the pro tools that we sell at Hellfords... halfruads...... bla bla bla i prefer just to call it work are as good as the snap-on stuff that costs alot more.

life time warranty is good on everything in the pro range except the ratchet spanners, or should i say the ratchet part on the spanner isnt covered. but to be honest its very rare anything is brought back.

I would recommend them to anyone. And advise anyone that can to get a trade card as service parts and other mechanic tools of the trade can be had for a steal.

I have a set but the open end of the spanners is not meaty enough and flexes out sometimes permanently. I ended up buying a set of Snap-on spanners that are far better quality.

The sockets are good enough though.

Must admit i never usually use the open end, too much chance of slipping and destroying y knuckles. Ya must of really given them some!

Sometimes you have to use the open end with limited space.

I usually get served by some spotty gimp so i take offense at that! :)

Yeah - used to be 33% off but they reduced the discount to 5% once already reduced as some c*nts were just taking advantage and flogging on eBay...

Still an absolute bargain tho, mines 5 years old now and taken all sorts of abuse, the only thing i've broken is the latches on the case from it being karted about and they are sending me one of the newer design'd ones out.

If you can stretch to it the 250 Industrail box is the one to go for at the moment - comes with 1/4 and 23/8 sockets and full set of spanners + screwdrivers!

finally got fed up of looking for the right sized socket in my tool bag, only to realize it's upstairs on the side[:x].
went and treated myself to the socket set in halfords. 95 and a 10 voucher makes it 85. feels nice and weighty when carrying it.

hopefully i wont have to scrape around for the right socket.
look reasonable quality, and the lifetime guarantee is a good selling point.
going to laminate my receipt on monday so it lasts a lifetime

Just took the plunge and bought myself the 150piece set aswell. Looks very decent!

Laminating the receipt isnt a bad idea! Might have to do this aswell.

I've never needed the receipt and I've been back on three seperate occasions, all pro tools are guaranteed for life and the pro ones are easy to make out from normal.

I even got a 7mm hex bit I ground down swapped out, said it had rounded off.

Good advice thanks, finally invested in a new ratchet spanner set (the day after fitting my strut brace!) and they look real nice. Its a 12 piece metric spanner set with a little adapter that turns one spanner into a ratchet for a socket and some little screwdriver bits star key pozi etc 39.99 reduced from 59.99 BARGAIN!!!
