Southampton, dont think those places you mentioned are anywhere near. Designer Dubs is close though, would they be any good?

you do know that the VW ECU throws a "engine speed sensor - no signal" code when the engine is not running....?

this code goes away when the engine is started.

Mine is a '94 L reg.If it is the hall sensor it is mounted behind the coil pack-had mine replaced in an hour.He could have damaged it or left it disconnected or something-got to be worth quickly unbolting the coilpack and checking it!

They must have priced you the wrong part.Awesome got mine from a VW dealer for thirty odd quid!!They might have priced you up an RPM crank sensor which costs around that! Most VW dealers dont know much about VR6's unless you find a partsman who has worked there a while when they used to get them in more regularly

Thanks Pete, you're probably right, first of all they were going to sell me a knock sensor for 68. wouldn't be surprised if they got it wrong again! [8-}]

    Unfortunately Awesome just phoned me.

    The good news:

The cars sorted and running like a train.

    The bad news:

New fuel pump & housing, new fuel filter, coolant temp sensor and the worst one a new ECU [:^(] [:^(] . I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(]

    The bill, an AWESOME 500 [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(]

Sounds like an AWESOME bill, mate. [:o)] Awesome by name.......

At least you'll be grinning again soon (when you can afford to put petrol in it!)

So did they say what the main cause was or was it just a combination of the lot resulting in the low power?

The main 2 were the fuel pump (had a 16v should have had an 8v) and the knackered ecu.

I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight [:^(]

I'm going to have to do some buying and selling to make some cash back.

Do we get Club discount at Awesome?????
