Southampton, dont think those places you mentioned are anywhere near. Designer Dubs is close though, would they be any good?
you do know that the VW ECU throws a "engine speed sensor - no signal" code when the engine is not running....? this code goes away when the engine is started. Jules
Mine is a '94 L reg.If it is the hall sensor it is mounted behind the coil pack-had mine replaced in an hour.He could have damaged it or left it disconnected or something-got to be worth quickly unbolting the coilpack and checking it!
thanks a lot mate. mine is L reg 94 too, VW dealer said mine didnt have a hall sensor and were trying to charge 400 for parts (speed sensor and coilpack) anyway i'll try and find this sensor and i'll let u know how it goes .
I hope no news is good news, and he's too busy playing with lots of new horses . I'm after a new hall sensor/cam position sensor for my car, Pete u said you paid 40 for one, where did u find it? VW dealers are charging 118, german, swedish +french and euro car parts dont have them
They must have priced you the wrong part.Awesome got mine from a VW dealer for thirty odd quid!!They might have priced you up an RPM crank sensor which costs around that! Most VW dealers dont know much about VR6's unless you find a partsman who has worked there a while when they used to get them in more regularly
Thanks Pete, you're probably right, first of all they were going to sell me a knock sensor for 68. wouldn't be surprised if they got it wrong again!
Mine's going to be next week now [:^(] They think fuel starvation and said i should have used an 8v pump instead of my 16v one. I sould get it back moday/tuesday.
Unfortunately Awesome just phoned me. The good news: The cars sorted and running like a train. The bad news: New fuel pump & housing, new fuel filter, coolant temp sensor and the worst one a new ECU [:^(] [:^(] . I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] The bill, an AWESOME 500 [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(]
Hi all. Ive had to wait for electronics expert to come back from holiday. Car is booked in first thing tomorrow though, i'll let you know what happens. glad to hear yours is sorted mate, i guess you haven't driven it yet? im sure the 500 wont seem so bad after youve tested it out Edited by: Macca
Sounds like an AWESOME bill, mate. Awesome by name....... At least you'll be grinning again soon (when you can afford to put petrol in it!) So did they say what the main cause was or was it just a combination of the lot resulting in the low power?
The main 2 were the fuel pump (had a 16v should have had an 8v) and the knackered ecu. I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight [:^(] I'm going to have to do some buying and selling to make some cash back. Do we get Club discount at Awesome?????
