Ok thanks, I've been onto someone already about mapping it properly, I was under the impression I might be able to get a base map just to get it running.

Does anyone use an NGK/NTK uego o2 sensor, just looking at wideband controllers and came across it.

The NTK UHEGOs are expensive when compared to Bosch UHEGO that you can find on many a 2000-onwards 1.8T.
Yes I do use NTKs sensors and controller boxes but not on equipment available to the public.

My suggestion, if you plan on mapping or making fuel related changes would be invest in an AEM, Innovate, VEMs or techedge lambda reader. All of those use Bosch LSU type UHEGOs

How do you mean by not available to the public?

I've heard good things about Zeitronix controllers and was leaning towards one of them, I was just curious about the NTK type.

One more question, I'm told that the E48 can't be used for sequential injection.

If you were to use an ecu with sequential injection on an abf, could the distributor be used as a camshaft position sensor?

Why do you think you need sequential injection?

    I don't think I need it, I'm just curious?

You don't need it, wasn't needed when we did the throttles on mine in Toyo's thread & that package ran sweet as anything

Picked up a diesel alternator and bracket today, it'll keep the alternator down well out of the way of the bodies.

The shopping list is getting smaller bit by bit!

Good call...probably a fair bit lighter than that lumpy old ABF bracket and tensioner

I got the idea from Jonnycab, its one less pulley to worry about and I think the other type can catch the chassis leg on a mk1 so it has a few advantages!

Yeah I ditched the ABF setup and went for a setup from a mk3 cab, which I think is the same as what you have, uses a big spring to tension the alternator? Much nicer setup of you ask me.

What's left of the shopping list now?

    Thats the one Bruce!

    Shopping list:

    Coil pack

    VR crank sensor

    Exhaust manifold

    Lambda controller

    Comms cable

Not doing too bad really, the lambda setup and manifold aren't cheap but the other bits can be got handy enough. I got a quote of €350 to map it too.

    Sounds good! Almost there

Manifolds pop up in the classifieds fairly often so might be able to pick up a decent one second hand and save a few quid?

Sagem Peugeot (got mine from a 306 i think) coil packs are fairly easy to pick up at the scrappy and allow you to use OE leads. Make sure you get the connector and the resistor as well.

What lambda setup are you going for?

I'll probably pick up a new coil in the local motorfactors, they're cheap enough.

The connector is already on the loom, but what is this resistor you speak of?

Probably going to go for a Zeitronix setup.

Just a pic of the bits and pieces so far.

I'll get some decent ram pipes in time when the funds allow!

Ah sorry! I meant capacitor [:$] (it had been a long day )

Some coil packs have an external capacitor that helps to surpress noise. Your chosen coil pack may already have one built in, but if not you'll need this too.

Have a look at page 3 of Smudges megasquirt/ITB guide, it's pinned at the top of this section. A lot of good info in there. Helped me a lot
